We do have an outdoor cat that comes around for her daily feeding but does not come in the house.
Downtown Austin, UT, Zilker Park, Austin Convention Center, Barton Springs and Austin's entertainment district are all approximately 5 miles away and can be reached by car or public transit. There is a bus stop within walking distance (.5 mile). There are plenty of restaurants, parks and grocery stores near the property.I do recommend renting a car or using Cars 2 Go. Public transportation is not the best if you really want to see and experience Austin and all of the great things it has to offer.
Reservations can't be taken more than 90 days in advance.
My listing requires a 2 night minimum stay on the weekends only but I will consider a 1 night stay if you ask!

Interaction with Guests
I interact with guests as much or as little as they like. I am out of town quite often. There are guests that stay that I never even meet because they prefer complete privacy and then there are guests that I end up keeping in touch with because a friendship comes out of their visit. I respect either preference!
I moved here 25 years ago and when I travelled down my Boulevard for the first time, I knew that this is where I wanted to live. It is an amazingly beautiful street with a bike path and runners taking advantage of the shade trees lining the street. My neighborhood is peaceful, well established and quite lovely when everything is in bloom.
Bikes are easy to rent. Cars 2 Go are available. Buses run nearby to downtown. I drive for LYFT. Feel free to ask me about LYFT for a free ride up to $25.
Other Things to Note
If you have more than 2 guests, I may be able to accommodate you depending on the reservation date request.

Barbara was a wonderful host. The room was spacious and well kept. She definitely went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable. She provided us with anything that we needed while in Austin. I would highly recommend staying with her, and will absolutely stay again.
When we arrived Barbara came out to the street to welcome us. She immediately made us feel at home and gave us a tour of our new accommodations. Even though our room was connected to the main house we felt we were in our own private space. The room was a very spacious suite with its own bathroom and shower. The bed was very comfortable and the suite was beautifully and artistically decorated. We felt very comfortable staying at Barbaras bnb.
Barbara was a wonderful host, and I felt very much at home! The room was just as described, very warm and cheerful. The bed was VERY comfortable...so much so that I slept late both days I was there. Although I didn't use the pool, it was a beautiful backyard and setting. I would definitely stay here again.
What can I say about my experience staying with Barbara?! She was absolutely fantastic! She deserves the best host award. She is such a thoughtful person who immediately makes you feel at home. Her oasis is exactly that, an oasis with so much color and beautiful mexican art. She had wonderful recommendations to visit while I was in Austin. Unfortunately, I came at a time when Austin was experiencing the worst flooding in decades lol. Nonetheless, my experience in Austin will be unforgettable. I told Barbara I will call her when I move there and I promise I will! Thank you for everything. :)
What a wonderful first airbnb experience! Barbara was a very thoughtful host. We were in Austin for my daughter’s college graduation and staying with Barbara made it even more magical. Her home is lovely and very clean. The beds and pillows are super comfy. Her beautiful spirit shines through in her home. This home and area are a great place to stay and I’d highly recommend it if you are looking for quality, convenience and comfort.

Ahhhhhhhh where do I begin with Barbara she is simply lovely, warm and very welcoming. We stayed with Barbara last summer when I was pregnant and this time returned with our daughter...we could not have stayed in a better place with our baby girl (so clean, safe, bright and great energy) Barbara was so welcoming to our little family and we felt so thankful that we met someone like her in Austin. If your going for a vacation, work or just thinking of relocating I highly recommend Barbara's place...it really doesn't get better than her lovely home :) hope this helps!
