Mi casa es su casa! My home is situated in an established neighborhood in north central Austin. The house is charming and colorfully decorated with folk art, hardwood floors and Mexican tiles throughout.
I have a 500 square foot addition to rent that has its own private entrance with a key pad lock. There is a small private bathroom with a sink, shower and toilet. The bedroom has 1 daybed with a trundle to make a king size bed or 2 twins. In the same room there is a comfortable futon couch that folds down in to a full/queen size bed. There is a TV, stereo with ipod connection, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, small desk, ceiling fan, armoire, ironing board/iron and internet access in your room. All towels, linens, pillows, pool towels, blow dryer, soap and shampoo are provided.
Your bedroom door leads to a backyard paradise including a huge back patio with a BBQ grill, fire pit, mature trees, hammock and a lap pool for your enjoyment. Pool can be heated for an additional fee if necessary.
Breakfast is not included but I do provide coffee and tea.
You will have shared access to the kitchen and living room area. Our home is open, clean and smoke free.
We do have an outdoor cat that comes around for her daily feeding but does not come in the house.
Downtown Austin, UT, Zilker Park, Austin Convention Center, Barton Springs and Austin's entertainment district are all approximately 5 miles away and can be reached by car or public transit. There is a bus stop within walking distance (.5 mile). There are plenty of restaurants, parks and grocery stores near the property.I do recommend renting a car or using Cars 2 Go. Public transportation is not the best if you really want to see and experience Austin and all of the great things it has to offer.
Reservations can't be taken more than 90 days in advance.
We would love to have you in our home!
Guest access includes living room, dining room, kitchen, backyard patios, swimming pool and laundry facility.
I interact with guests as much or as little as they like. I am out of town quite often.
I moved here 25 years ago and when I travelled down my Boulevard for the first time, I knew that this is where I wanted to live. It is an amazingly beautiful street with a bike path and runners taking advantage of the shade trees lining the street. My neighborhood is peaceful, well established and quite lovely when everything is in bloom.
Bikes are easy to rent. Cars 2 Go are available. Buses run nearby to downtown. Relay Rides are available all over town for a discount rental car. Feel free to ask me about Relay Rides in Austin.
If you have more than 3 guests, I may be able to accommodate you depending on the reservation date request.
My policy states 2 night minimum but if you are seeking only 1 night, I may accept if there is only 1 night available on your reservation date request.
MapQuest or (website hidden) Maps or any GPS will have you taking 2222 to my house. That street changes names at least 5 times! The names are Koenig Lane, 2222, Northland, 290 (east of HWY 35), Allandale Rd..
Mopac is the same thing as HWY 1
Amazing Place! Room was super clean and colorful! Pool was great! Excellent Location! A perfect place to relax! Recommended 100%!!
I needed to have a couple of days to rest and rejuvenate with no distraction. I rented Barbara's room for two nights, and immediately felt at home. It was bright, cheerful, comfortable and clean. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. She had everything needed to make a great experience. I highly recommend this room to anyone needing a great place to stay in Austin.
I enjoyed my stay with Barbara. What you see in picture is exactly what you get. Beautiful back yard. Daybed was very comfortable to sleep on. Barbara quickly responds to your emails and even called to make sure I could find her house(my flight got in late at night). I would definitely suggest anyone looking for a place to stay in Austin to stay with Barbara. If I make it back to Austin I would definitely stay here again.
The room was better than we expected, full of light and bright, colorful artwork. The pool was lovely, very refreshing. Barbara and Will are wonderful hosts. We would highly recommend these accommodations to anyone!! We want to come back now!
Barbara was an excellent host! Very warm and welcoming, with an equally warm and welcoming home. We hope to be back soon!
Beautiful, well appointed room. Quiet and convenient location. Wonderful host; great price. Would recommend highly to anyone visiting Austin.
The room and host were a wonderful surprise. Could not be more friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and well appointed with everything that I could need. Would live there if I could.
Lovely and unique living space, wonderfully located, and a gracious and inviting hostess--we couldn't have asked for a better stay!
My sister and I had travelled to Austin for a half-marathon, Barb did all she could to make our visit stress-free and comfortable--from providing directions, to restaurant suggestions, to even giving us a ride! The best!!!
The art in our room, the invigorating post-run swim, and the quiet surroundings, made this visit more like a retreat than the hectic run tour it could have been. We highly recommend this property and commend this hostess!
Our stay at Barbara's charming room was simply wonderful. Barbara is very hospitable and welcoming. We fell very comfortable and were inspired by her lovely decorations. She was great with our five year old daughter Nina. We will definitely stay at Barbara's next time we are in Austin.
The room is just as described and so cozy! It's cute and it was obvious that a lot of attention was paid to detail. Barbara and her husband made me feel so welcome. Their backyard is a peaceful oasis if you want to just hang out and read. I would stay here again anytime I was in Austin!
