We loved staying at Nomad! I just returned from a 5 night stay there, with my husband and our two teenagers. The bedrooms were private and each has its own bathroom. The setup is like a railroad apartment-- but each bedroom has a glass door that opens onto the lanai:). The lanai serves as the hangout space-- featuring the dipping pool with a beautiful jungle surrounding it. We loved returning to the pool during the hottest part of the days for shade and to cool off and relax. The house is a short drive to Playa Pelada (gorgeous!!) and La Luna and Olga's (both on Pelada) - as well as El Chivo and Seekret. I can recommend all of those places. It's also a short drive to Miss SKy Canopy tours-- the most awesome zip lining experience EVER! PS BEgind the nearby gas station you have to go to the coffee place that opens at 6-- and pick up some of their great freshly ground varietals. Transport: we contracted a driver from/to Liberia airport with NOsara Taxi - highly recommend. The roads are no joke. It is like off-roading-- and I still am fairly certain that directions are intuition based, as there arent very many signs. We rented a 4x4 from Economy for our local travel-- which you will need to get around ( conversely you could hire a taxi, I suppose, but we like to wander and explore a bit). Food-- didn't really have a bad meal the whole time. GIldas isn't only a great host, but an excellent chef! Be sure to hire him t cook for you one of the nights-- amazing! In addition to other places already mentioned, be sure to check out Tibidabo:) Activities- besides already mentioned: SUP SONAS- Stacy is from Boston and a competitive paddleboarder- she is an excellent guide for any kind of outing; we went SUP and snorkeling with her in San Juanillo and wrapped up in time for sunset. Juan Surfo- excellent beginner surf lessons for our kids. All in all an amazing adventure!!

This is paradise ! The home and the host are superb!!! Gildas showed us around after we arrived and pointed out the good places to eat and the spots to surf. And the dinner he prepared was exceptional. Already planning our return visit....

We had a great time. Highlight of the trip was seeing the monkeys in the yard in the evening. Was easy to find and beaches and restaurants were close enough. Would recommend to families or couples who travel often and aren't looking for glitz and glam. But a wonderful getaway from day to day life. Thanks again xx

One of the nicest outdoor spaces you could ask for here in Nosara CR Your host Gilda's is a wonderful person and a great French chef. The accommodations are basic and Gildas is always available for your needs. The Nomad is slightly out of town but your destinations are easily accessible by car or motorized vehicle By wary of the "road system" in this area as paved streets are rare. There is an owner apartment unstairs but he is not often there .. make sure you ask the owner to cook for you when you visit

This former restaurant turned house is a nice set-up for two couples, friends or family. One of the bedrooms can morph from one queen to two twins beds - VERY firm beds. We added long cushions (meant for outdoor seating?) the second night and slept more comfortably. The two adjoining bathrooms separated by a door make it flexible yet private with each bedroom on either side. AC in bedrooms only - worked great! The large kitchen was nice for making meals though you needed all the doors open and fans on to keep it comfortable. The gravel road out front did bring in a good amount of dust. There is a cloth-like fence so you don't see the traffic but you hear it and see the dust aftermath of the moderately traveled road. FYI: Don't bring nice shoes - they'll get VERY dusty & dirty. And wear light-clothing - it was 100 degrees in mid-March. From 10am - 4pm you needed to be in the water or in AC or have a nice cold beverage. :-) The pool was very refreshing! GG(Gildas) made us an incredibly tasty meal ($100 for 4) and it was well worth it!! He was very helpful and responsive as well. He guided us on a 2 hour tour to show us the lay of the land, beaches, restaurants, etc. which was extraordinarily helpful. Even with our tour, Nosara and the surrounding area can be difficult to get your bearings. I recommend taking a picture of the map in the center of town. Overall The Nomad was comfortable, clean, centrally located and well-priced. GG's sweet demeanor definitely added to our experience. Thank you GG!!

Let me start off by saying that Gildas is a wonderful host, the house and property are beautiful, and the overall experience is exactly as the other reviews indicate. But I urge you to read this entire review, even after you read the next paragraph. Unfortunately, we had electronics and cash taken from the house while we were out during the day. It was discovered that someone entered through a bathroom window, most likely using a crowbar to break the lock on the window and then slide it open. To Gildas' credit, he did everything he possibly could for us once he found out. He came over as soon as he got the message, the police were called out, and he had the window fixed the next day. He had told us the first night to store all of our electronics in the kitchen but we didn't know why. Now we do. The kitchen is completely secured with metal doors that slide down and lock. Gildas has owned the house for 7 years and has been renting it out for 3, and this is the first time this has happened. The other reviews on here back that up. I truly believe this was an isolated, fluke event. Although we were victims of theft, at no point in our stay did we feel unsafe. We were given the impression by both Gildas and the police that theft in the area is rare, and that violent crime is largely nonexistent. It pains me to write this review, knowing that it may deter people from staying here; but honestly, I don't believe that there was anything about Gildas' place that made us any more vulnerable to being robbed than any place else we could have stayed. In other words, this could have happened anywhere. And as long as you store electronics in the kitchen and lock it when you are gone, your risk of having anything taken is near-zero. On our last night there, Gildas cooked us a meal that was so delicious, we almost forgot what had happened. In light of the robbery, he plans to make upgrades to the building to increase security, despite the fact that this was the first event of its kind in seven years. So, with all of the above taken into account, I would still recommend staying here to anyone. I hope to return some day and write a 5-star review.

Wonderful host and a beautiful town! Our family loved staying at Nomad. Gildas was a gracious host and a fantastic chef. We recommend that you rent ATV's to get around. We booked surfing and zip lining through Safari Surf (they were amazing). Have dinner at La Luna and gelato at Sekretspot.
