This upstairs bedroom has easy access from the front entry and has its own private bathroom. The views are fabulous, looking across to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the wharf, and the sailboats taking advantage of the ocean breezes.
A short walk down the hill takes you to the beach. Turn the other direction and take advantage of the spectacular walking and bike path along W. Cliff Drive to Natural Bridges Beach. Take a short 25 minute walk to downtown to access any of the 10 movie theaters and many wonderful restaurants.
2 night minimum required.
If you would like to do any cooking, please be sure to make arrangements with us in advance. We have a busy household and the kitchen is the busiest spot in the house. Thanks.
We just enjoyed the most relaxing weekend at Kim and Mikes place! Watched whales feeding just a couple of hundred yards from shore, sat on the benches at the cliffs overlooking SC in the morning to enjoy a pick nick breakfast. Watched the fireworks from our bedroom window.... The list just goes on, just to much fun!
Oh and Kim and Mike are very easygoing and very accommodating and of course as everyone has noted the house is amazing. The best nights rest we've had in a long time while listening to the waves crash on the beach and the sea lions barking.
Can wait to visit again- Thanks for sharing your home Kim & Mike
This was our first time using Airbnb and we couldn't be any happier with our decision or choice. Kim and Mike have a fabulous home! Great accommodations, the bed was very comfy and loved hearing the waves crash on the shore. Kim and Mike were out of town but their daughters were very helpful and made us feel at home. We definitely will be back. A great first experience!
My GF and I stayed over the 2nd weekend in September. We loved Kim and Mike's place. Kim was away, but Mike was nice, cordial and helpful when asked but out of the way as well to gives us privacy. The queen bed and pillows were SO comfortable. We slept soundly. At night, we opened the windows more to let the cool air come in, as well as the sound of the waves, and distant seals, we loved it, helped us sleep; there were some random motorcycles passing by but after a while just peace. Cozy, ample room. We could see the wharf and the Boardwalk from our window. Our private bathroom was clean, nice looking, plenty of hot water. Had dinner twice at the Fire Fish on the wharf, 3 blocks down, did the Boardwalk, one more block, and the Roaring Camp train ride during the day, recommended. Didn't have to drive at all during our 2 nights there. We didn't cook but the kitchen was grand and available. We are coming back. :-)
Kim and Mike's House is a diamond by the sea! Really! What a large beautiful house!
They welcomed us cordially though we came very late (around 11:30 pm, all the way from Yosemite).
The room has a beautiful ocean view, a clean private bathroom, a big closet, a fridge and a very cosy bed (actually you can pull up the shutters in the morning and enjoy the first minutes of the day staring out on the ocean - I enjoyed and loved this so much). The room is in the front wing, the family lives in the other one so you have a very private stay.
The house is located only a few walking minutes from the beach with the famous boardwalk and downtown.
Parking is for free with the license Kim and Mike provide.
We met both of then and their daughters each for a few minutes and they are so friendly and helpful! A very inspiring and warmhearted family.
Enjoy your stay with them - we did and highly recommend this place!
(The pictures don't do this place any justice - everything is so much brighter, bigger and more beautiful in real!)
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Kim and Mike's. Clean, comfortable, amazing sea breeze/view, and quiet. The location worked well--great walking around the west cliffs and beaches. Longer walk to downtown, but doable. Definitely recommend compared to the budget hotels in the same price range.
What a great house in a great location. So close to everything. Their house is beautiful and the room is spacious. A great place to stay in Santa Cruz.
The photos don't do justice to the size and beauty of this house and room. The bed is a queen size and very comfortable. The bathroom is inside the room and both are on the front wing of the house fairly separate from where the family lives. Everything was clean and comfortable.
The kitchen is a shared space and we were there during the weekend so it was probably busier than normal and necessary to schedule when we used the space. The location is convenient to the boardwalk and the lighthouse park and natural bridge. There are also beautiful quiet beaches a short drive up the coast.

My husband and I and share this great house with our daughter who is a young adult and a single "boarder". My husband is Director of IT for one of the large divisions at UCSC, and I own my own company which provides commercial real estate development services for nonprofit organizations. I have an office in San Francisco and also work out of my home office in Santa Cruz a number of days per week.
We enjoy living in Santa Cruz with the beach across the street and the redwoods a short drive away. We appreciate the natural wonders every day and vow never to take them for granted.
