Interaction with Guests
Hello, thank you for choosing a Sunset House and Gardens apartment. I'm Vicki, the owner. In your room you will find a guide book that gives you a lot of useful info. Internet Codes, fun things to see and do, how to get around, local grocery stores etc. I have lived in the area for 40 years and I'm happy to give reccomendations! You can call or text me at (phone number hidden), or just stop me when you see me in the garden!
A little about the garden. Everything here is organic and edible, medicinal or useful in some way. My garden does not look like a traditional english style garden because I practice a system/lifestyle called permaculture. In a nutshell, a permanent culture that renews itself naturally. Feel free to wander around, use the sitting areas and gas grill. It is not uncommon to see an Egret hunting for his dinner in the garden. We are also home to the endangered Monarch Butterflies. During your stay you are likely to see Oreo, a rescue bunny who lives in the garden. She is allowed to roam free. She enjoys human camponion ship but doesnt like to be picked up or pet. In the late afternoon I let the chickens out to free range on the front side of the parking lot. Your welcome to join them in their mayhem! I have soil restoration projects, rain water harvesting and composting on site. I'm happy to give garden tours and to gardening tips and advice upon request (to anyone who will listen). Yes, I'm bragging...If it can be grown, I can grow it!
1-1/2 mi to downtown Dunedin, 2 blks from Pinellas bike trail, 5 mi from Clearwater beach
You can use the bus system for local excursions but getting to Tampa by bus is not a good idea. Try the Jolly Trolley $4.50 for an all day pass!
Pinellas bike trail minutes away!

The space was as described and matched the photos posted. Her garden/edible landscape was lush and picturesque. We regret not being able to spend time amongst the flora but the mosquitoes were out in force. Besides a large binder of menus, maps, and brochures, Vicki offered tailored suggestions about which venues might best match our vacationing preferences and steered us toward some neat places off the beaten path.
Our only issue was the cleanliness of the room upon arrival; the floor was dirty/sandy and the filter for the in-window air-conditioning unit was filthy. We placed a call to Vicki (she picked up on the third ring) and explained the situation. She apologized and she sent the maid service over that day and the issues were resolved before we arrived back from dinner.
Overall it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience and we would be happy to stay with her again.
The apartment was just as pictured. My husband and I stayed here with our 2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We chose this place as it is pet friendly along with the town of Dunedin. Vicki was friendly and available but not intrusive at all. We enjoyed the garden with the bunny, chickens and different seating areas.
Loved it. Vicki had everything you could think of. Sand toys, beach chairs, cooler..you name it. It's the perfect spot. Minutes from the beach, without having to spend an arm and a leg. This cute little apartment was the perfect size for me, my fiance and my six year old son. She had a nice cot for him when we arrived. My son loved Oreo and the chickens. He kept calling it "the bunny house" when we were out for the day. Vicki even gave us some fresh aloe vera from her garden to ease a little extra sun we received. I really love the Dunedin area. Cute and quaint. I would stay there again for sure. Highly recommend.
Loved staying at this garden house! We were lucky enough to get to meet Vicki. She was courteous and accommodating. The yard was beautiful to walk around. The bed was squeaks a bit, but it was alright just staying there 2 nights. Vicki went above and beyond putting together a binder of activities and places to visit around. We followed her suggestions and were very pleased. We would consider staying with her again at any of her other properties.
Great location. Vicki is gracious, friendly, and extremely helpful with sights to see. Bike trail is close by; Vicki has bikes to loan out. And able to use the washer/dryer on site. All around-a great vaca.
Vicki was a wonderful host. The apartment was nice and cozy and private. Vicki was very informative and even provided information on attractions and anything one would want to know about the area. I would most definable book with her again. The location was great as well.

About the Host, Vicki
Hi, welcome to Florida! I'm as low key and easy going as it gets. I love nature and have a big, edible garden behind the apartments. I also enjoy kayaking, art, books, theater, crafts and of course having fun with my family and friends.
My favorite vacation was a road trip out west with my camper and my dog. It lasted three months and I hiked all over Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. What scenery!
Being an Airbnb host has been an amazing experience. I've enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people. I love having college students around! Ask about my intern discount!
