Welcome to our home!!!
We live in a lovely and very cosy apartment in Hulme, on the second floor of a modern development. There are two double bedrooms and an open plan living room with a spacious balcony. Both of us are musicians, so you will find a lot of music related things like grand piano in the living room and a couple of cellos.
We have a huge ASDA supermarket just across the road which is open until midnight week days as well as various other shops such as a flower shop and B&M. For those who like their regular work out the Moss Side Leisure Centre ((website hidden)) has great facilites such as large swimming pool, steam room, sauna and two gyms located opposite of our development. There is a lovely café around the corner which serves English breakfast, fresh sandwiches and many other things for very reasonable prices. You are welcome to use our kitchen and prepare your own food.
The flat is located 15 mins away from City Centre and Old Trafford. You can easily walk to Oxford Road Station or Deansgate in approximately 20 min or take a regular bus No. 85 or 86 which will bring you to Piccadilly Gardens in 10-15 min. The bus stop is very close - just 2 minutes walk from us. The taxi from Piccadilly train station to our place would cost between £5-7. We have a secure parking space in a gated area and a free use of WI-FI, TV, hairdryer.
We have been living in Manchester for 10 years and would be very happy to suggest things to do whether it is museums and galleries or a night life you are interested in.
We love having guest and we will make sure you feel welcome.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Svetlana & Slava
The room is nice and clean, very close to the city centre and supermarket. The host is very nice and welcoming. Will definitely recommended and stay again for our next visit.
We had a lovely stay at Slava's. Svetlana was kind and welcoming and happy to help us find our way into Manchester - thank you!
Slava's flat was very clean and conveniently located. The room was perfect for a short stay in Manchester (perhaps the only caveat is the mattress, which isn't great for someone with occasional lower back pain). Slava is a good and efficient host!
Slava and Svetlana are very nice people, and were welcoming hosts. The bedroom is, as the listing says, cosy. The wifi worked well, and it was reassuring to be able to park my car in a secure private car park. The surrounding area has a large Asda, a McDonalds and some takeaways, but don't expect a wide range of restaurants.
Slava was a great host. He was flexible enough to let us drop our things off before official check in time and helped us figure out what to see and even gave us a map. His place is small but was fine for what we needed. We weren't there long so I didn't get to explore the actual neighborhood itself, but there didn't seem to be too many options for breakfast nearby. The walk to downtown isn't too convenient but it's totally doable. The bus ride is very easy and bus stop is convenient.
Thanks so much to Slava for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The flat is easy to find, lovely and clean, and Slava is an interesting host with a great sense of humour. I really enjoyed meeting him and he was very helpful and welcoming both in the run-up to the stay and during. I was working at Event City for three days, and having ASDA just around the corner for shopping and a chilled out place to crash and rest my sore feet was perfect. And in spite of what you might have heard about Hulme, I felt safe walking around, it was a very quiet residential area, and the flat is in a gated apartment complex with a parking space and good security, so no problems there. It's excellent value for a cosy double room and I heartily recommend that you stay with Slava when you visit Manchester!
Slava is a very nice host and his house very cozy! The room was clean and comfortable, and the position of the house is great, just 15 mins walking to the center and very well connected to public transports. The area is quite, with supermarkets and other shops around. Highly recommended! Thank you Slava!
Slava was great at getting back to us quickly before we arrived. My husband and I were arriving early on the first day and Slava let us have the place earlier than listed so we could enjoy our day. I never met Slava so he e-mailed me where to find the keys.
The place was okay. When you first walk in the building it smells like cat litter. (NOT Slava's fault. Just a first impression) when we walked in the apartment It was a lot messier than the pictures show but you could tell it was the same place. The room we had was small but okay. I do have allergies and I was finding it very difficult to breathe as the room smelt like it was sprayed a lot with Febreze. When we came back later that day with a few groceries and went to put them in the fridge it smelt like rotting food. We only purchased milk for cereal and was worried that the milk would spoil in the fridge.
We had a very difficult time getting hot water in the place and it took until we checked out for Slava to get back to me regarding this issue and all he said was "that's odd, were you able to get it working today?"
This area is not a superb location. After I had confirmed my details here I spoke with a friend's friend who was from Manchester and told me that the area is rough. Just south of the apartment is a very bad area to be and I was cautioned about staying here.
There is access to the metro routes. 4 pounds for a day pass and you have to take the Metro. Walking just isn't an option. My brother-in-law joined us in Manchester for a night and stayed at a hotel by Piccaadilly station for the same amount than we paid and it was in a better location. (not needing Metro to get around)
Overall, it was uncomfortable and just okay.
I'm a travel agent and would not recommend this to a client, but I would recommend it for someone who wants just a step up from a hostel or to someone who just needs a place to stay for a night.
Slava was very welcoming, and I felt really at ease in his cosy and charming flat.
The location is really handy, with a massive Asda supermarket just outside, and 20-35 minute walk away from most places in town.
The room was very clean and quiet, the bed comfy and towels were available which was much appreciated.
The living room/kitchen are very modern and charming, and the toilet/shower very clean.
Overall I would highly recommend Slava's for a combination of welcoming host, great location and clean and charming place.
Will keep in mind for the future.
Thank you Slava!
Slava is a really nice person and my friend and me felt very comfortable around him and in his flat of course. The room was small but cosy and everything was as expected. He told us what to visit in Manchester and recommended places to see.
