  • My friend and I stayed at this Airbnb for just one night, and we really enjoyed meeting our hosts. The room was accurately described and met our needs! Although this hostel is located rather far from the train station and "old town" city center, it only costs about 10 euros for a taxi home. I would recommend it to others based on the great price and nice accommodations!

  • Thank you for your nice and tidy room. The owners are also very nice. Although it is a little far from railway station, there are many bus that go to the place.

  • The host was very kind and helpful. The apartment was really clean, and there were two bathrooms we could use. They had a good kitchen to cook an a nice patio where to sit and relax. The only problem we found was that our room was on a first floor, just on top of some trafic lights. The isolation was not very good and it was noisy at night.

  • Market is very close by to buy some proscuito (sp). City center is 10-15 minute walk, depending on your stride. 17 bus leading to SMN is very close. Overall, great place. Domenico is very accommodating and looks to please his guests. He is constantly working which is understandable as he run's his own business. Nice open backyard to enjoy an espresso or machiato. Will definitely keep him in mind when I come back to Florence!!

For the people that complained about the noise...it is true but what do you expect when living in the city. For complainers about mosquitos...this is going to happen anywhere you go in Florence. Just don't open the windows. Domenico provides a fan.

One word of advice - towels are not provided. Other than that, no complains.

  • This was the best place to stay in Florence! Great location, close to the train station and city centere. We booked room "Florence in Red" but there was some problem and Domenico gave us the most amazing room in his and Mario's place "The Stil Novo Attic" with private bathroom, kitchen and terrace. In Domenico's and Mario's place You will find all You need during Your visit in Florence, even bicicles! They are great and friendly host. The street was a little bit busy but after our long days of walking around we slept good. Definetely would stay here again!
    Thank You once again!!!

  • It's too noisy!!!! I cannot sleep the whole night. Although the host is very nice and he also helped us print our tickets and waited me till midnight. It's a very nice place if ignore the noise from the street. I strongly recommend you to bring earplugs if you decide to stay here.

  • My experience was okay, but I regret to say that I won't come again. The room is next to a very busy street, doors were slammed inside in the middle of the night, and there is absolutely no noise isolation, so I couldn't sleep all night. Certainly, this is not Domenico's fault - I am very sensitive in what (street) noise is concerned. My boyfriend was traveling with me and he was able to find sleep. Domenico and Mario were friendly, available and communicative, they gave us a city map and made recommendations. Unfortunately, the restaurant Mario told us to go to was closed. The room was clean, and so were the two shared bathrooms. Though, you had to be quick to rush into the shower because the bath tub in the other bathroom was not to be used. Since we stayed only one night, we did not make use of the shared kitchen, but I am sure that at the guest house you have all the basic facilities at an economic rate. The place is very central, but I would not recommend to walk to the city, because it is not a very ice area to walk, close to the train station and very busy with traffic. But there is a bus, too, and the Taxi from the centre to the guest house was affordable (about 8 euros).

    Response from Mario & Domenico:

Thank you for your review. You slept here just one night and we really don't know if about 12 hours are enough for leave a review like this.
First of all, we are located in the heart of Florence, and like all the city in the world there are traffic.
About the bathrooms, there is the bathtube that you CAN USE. You can't use like a shower to prevent overflow.
About the kitchen, our guests can use it and all facilities (not at economic rates but) FOR FREE.
About the area, i really don't understand why you not raccomanded to walk. There are big sidewalks and a lot of guest that we have go and came back in the center city every day.
Dear Dominique, we are at your disposal when you would like to came back in our guest house for FREE not just for half day but for 3/4 days. We are sure that at the end of your stay your opinion will be different and same to the all over 60 review that we have. Every day we try our best for the our guests. We are happy if the guest are happy.

  • Mario and Domenico were great hosts. The apartment is not so close from old center (20 minutes by walk), but they borrowed us a bike and it was perfect to know Florence in a bike. The room and the bathroom were clean. The room is a little bit noisy and hot but they provided us a fan and we let the window closed. They were kind and they gave us good suggestions, very good Italian coffee (Lavazza) and mineral water. It was a very good experience!

  • Thanks to Domenico for his welcoming! I spend a very confortable stay in his house who is clean, not far from the center and easy to reach (take the bus 17 from Santa Maria Novella) and benefits of a terrace that is a big plus especially in summer!
