Not my best experience on Airbnb. I have to be brutally honest about a few things:
In our travels we have gotten used to a few things critical to summer - properly working aircon (theirs was basically a fan), comfy beds, en-suite bathrooms and friendly and responsive staff.
The bathroom has no window and you should lock it to keep it private - hence becomes extremely stuffy. Being at the entrance of a building, walking to the bathroom in a towel is not ideal- a place with a private on-suite is awesome.
At night, you have a choice: unbearable street noise (window open) or Suana (window closed). Bed = two single beds pushed together with the planks on the one falling out a few times. Not comfy bed.
Do not expect a welcome water (sweat the small stuff guys), map or breakfast (the option at least was not given). You share a fridge with many others. Also, their one-coffee-a-day policy is really lame: its cheap and makes a difference for travelers.
In sum, never felt at home, felt stuffy and warm, staff were not approachable guys (our question on whether the festival would take place the guy did not bother responding to and bluntly ignored). The bike is great, but it can easily be rented cheap if you stay elsewhere too. Can walk to city centre in 25min.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights while backpacking through Europe. Great hosts were vary helpful explaining the city, a nice room and kitchen for use. We had a good experience. It is about a 20min walk to the city centre and is also well linked by bus.
Mario and Domenico were great hosts! They were so helpful from telling us where to eat to providing a map of sights we should definitely go see. They told us which bus lines worked from their place to city center which was only a 10-15 min ride. Their place is so convenient and located in a good neighborhood. They also have a great bakery down the block from their place that I went to for breakfast each morning. I would highly recommend staying at their place. It is very clean and convenient. If I come back to Florence in definitely going to book with these guys again. Thank you Mario and Domenico for a great experience in Florence! Hope to keep in touch!
The location was very convenient, clean, professionally run. I especially like the fluffy towels! The kitchen is available for guests to use. Our room was on the first floor and on the street side; it was a bit noisy from the traffic at night.
Easy access to the historical center. Mario went out of his way to be accommodating with our travel plan.
East walk to many of Florence's sights. Mario was super friendly and directed us to a great coffee shop / bakery and arranged a taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport.
Room was clean and private. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Really nice place. Everything was clean and very comfortable bed! Mario had some good advises where we should go and how to get there. From the train station it is about 15 minutes by foot but there are plenty busses which take you almost in front of the b&b. We really advice this b&b!
It was a good place to stay in a nice city. More like a hotel than a home. But good chance to meet other travelers. First floor room we had was next to street and my wife complained of traffic. But all was clean.
Mario and Domenico are two of the friendliest and most hospitable B and B owners we have ever met. They are always present and they would always gladly and willingly help you with anything that you would need.
The photos, description of the place, and other reviews are accurate.
Thank you, Mario and Domenico!
The room was very clean and comfortable. The common areas are nice. The only thing is that the bathroom is outside the room. Mario and domenico were kind and helpful.
