I stayed in Joan's guest house for 3 months while working in Tucson. The guest house was perfect for what I needed. Small & cozy. Whenever I had a question about the area Joan was helpful & had suggestions. The neighborhood was very safe & it was easy to access everything Tucson has to offer.
I stayed around 3 months in Joan's guest house and felt very independent most of the time. Joan did not bother me unless I needed something fixed/replaced, and she was quick to respond. Although she did need to show the guesthouse a few times to potential renters, she eventually apologized for the inconvenience. The guesthouse was small but cozy & perfect for my needs as a single person. I had no problem accessing internet & cable channels. The neighborhood and adjacent park was safe & family friendly. In terms of location, the guesthouse is located near markets & great restaurants, very convenient. Easy check in & check out.
Joan was a great host, and the casita was perfect. I was doing a one month rotation at the university of Arizona, and as a medical student this was everything I needed. The price was cheap and the place was clean. The location near the park was awesome. I was able to go for a run around the neighborhood at any hour and felt safe. Overall it was a great experience, and I would recommend it to other medical students or anyone in general.
I stayed at the casita for about a month while I was transitioning into Tucson. This place is very comfortable, cozy, and has all the thing you need when you're far from home (access to a washer/dryer was a huge bonus!) The location is perfect, I biked to nearby coffee shops every weekend, you're close to a whole foods and tons other good places to eat (try the tucson tamale company for cheap tasty eats). The neighborhood is safe and low key, people are always out running and there's a park accross the street with exercise equiptment too. Also you are a quick bike ride from the UA campus. Joan was a great host and very accomodating and an excellent source of local knowledge, thanks for letting me borrow your vitamix :) overall I couldn't have been happier staying at her casita.
