About this listing
Double bed in private room in modern apartment with own bathroom. This is a ground floor apartment so no need for use of a lift.
The apartment is based in central Dublin, a 15 minute walk to city centre. There are many great restaurants, cafes, bars, with theatre and concert venues nearby, including the O2, Bord Gais Energy Theatre and the Aviva Stadium.
Spencer Dock is serviced by the Luas (tram) with the Spencer Dock stop literally outside the apartment - journey time 5 minutes to the city centre. The Airport bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the apartment (€6 fare one way - journey time 20 minutes). The DART station is a 5 minute walk from the apartment which will take you to lovely seaside towns such as Howth, Malahide, Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey.
The apartment has free hi-speed wifi. Guests have use of a fully equipped kitchen.
Your private bathroom has a power shower. We know how difficult it is to travel with liquids these days so there will be shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in your bathroom. Your bedroom will have ample wardrobe space and clean towels and clean sheets will all be provided. A hair dryer is also provided in your room.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A NON-SMOKING APARTMENT.
We do ask that you give a €50 deposit when you get here for the key and key fob. You will get back this when you are leaving. It is so people wont leave with the key or to replace a lost key. The key has a fob attached to it for to opening the gate and it is expensive to replace. We used to ask for a lower deposit until a recent key lost their key and fob and we discovered it was €50 to replace! We hope you don't mind! If you are from a country which does not use € we can take the deposit in the equivalent in your currency so you are not left with €50 as you leave!
PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT FOLLOWING ON FROM A RECENT MISUNDERSTANDING THIS IS A SHARED ACCOMODATION NOT AN APARTMENT OF YOUR OWN!
We are an easy-going couple with no major house rules.
We do work Monday-Friday and while we know you are on holiday we would ask that you are conscientious of noise at night!
During your stay in our home you are welcome to use the kitchen and living room as much as you wish.
Interaction with Guests
We do work Mon-Fri so will most likely not be in the apartment during the day.
We are more than happy to provide advice on places to go and what to see and do. Information on tours and attractions will be left in your room.
If you need us to book anything prior to your arrival do let us know and we will be happy to arrange bookings as needed.
We stayed 4 days/nights.
The place was really clean and quiet. Perfect to rest after a long day of visits.
Simon was really helpful and gave us some very useful tips.
My friend and I had a wonderful experience at Simon's and we fell in love with Dublin during our stay. Simon was very helpful and communicative the entire time and even gave us suggestions as to what we should do/see. The place itself was very clean, comfortable, private, and secure. The title of the listing also says it all, his apartment is in the absolutely BEST location. We were very close to all the main shopping/attractions/bars but far enough where we could get some peace and quiet. Public transit, great food shops, and 3 grocery stories all located right outside the apartment. This place was everything we wanted, 100% recommended!
A perfect first Air B&B experience for us! Wonderful location, room and hosts. Location was walkable to everything we wanted to do and it felt like our own little neighborhood. Very quiet and convenient to drug stores and breakfast places to start our days. Thanks so much to Simon and family!
Upon arrival, Simon greeted us at the gate outside the complex, which was quite generous given the horrendous weather with which we were welcomed. After the initial run-through (apartment tour, explanation of our location on the city map, basic transportation advice), they kept to themselves and we were left to our own devices. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. There is ample storage space (drawers, a closet) if you need to store clothing for an extended stay. It took us 22 minutes to walk [briskly] to the Molly Malone statue (a common meeting point for tour buses). The double decker tour bus picks up less than 10 minutes away for the Dublin city tour. We took the DART/Luas rail to O'Connell St. a couple of times during harsh weather, which was €4.00 round trip. There are a handful of cafes and small grocery stores within a 3 minute walk from the apartment. This was an incredibly low-maintenance, enjoyable place to stay. Highly recommended!
Spacious and clean apartment, very well located, just in front of a LUAs stop and within walking distance of the city centre. Many shops and restaurants around. The accommodation is exactly as advertised and Simon and Siobhan were really nice and helpful. We had a very good time in Dublin and I can recommend without doubt this accommodation.
First, I liked that Simon sent us clear directions to get to his place. It was appreciated since we arrived late in Dublin.
He kindly showed us a map of Dublin at our arrival and explained us how to get to activities we wanted to do during our stay.
He helped us a lot during our stay, which really made our trip easier!
The appartment is really well located.
I liked the room and the private bathroom as well.
Really clean and comfortable!
I'll definitively would go back at Simon's place if I would have the chance to go back to Dublin.
