Other Things to Note
Augill Castle is run as a small 15 bedroom hotel in a B&B style
A very relaxed place : kick off your shoes by the front door without causing a stir!
Wendy was a delight as was our stay at augill castle. Our first impressions were one of awe as we pulled into the drive and we were not disappointed. The room was comfortable, warm and inviting as were the staff. We really felt at home at augill castle and will definitely visit again
What a great place to stay. Simon and Wendy aimed to create a refreshing change from a soulless hotel and they have achieved that aim very successfully. I will certainly be back the next time I'm passing.
This place is AMAZING! We've stayed at 30 AirBNB's over the last month+ and we often are thinking "this place isn't quite like the photos" ... but not Wendy's Castle. For the first time, this place is BETTER than the photo's ... BY FAR.
Our kids loved this place and after extending our stay by a night, our kids were begging us to stay longer.
With plenty of room to run around and enjoy the outdoors and indoors, this place is truly a gem! I will come back to this place for CERTAIN.
The staff was superb, the accommodations amazing; there was nothing about this place that we didn't love. The beds were the most comfortable we've had in weeks; the host the most laid-back and casual as ever; the space to roam about was superb. I can't say enough about Wendy & Simon's castle.
Thank you for the wonderful experience!
The listing was easy to find with the accurate instructions provided, and the rooms were exactly as listed online. Although Simon & Wendy were not present during my stay, the staff operating the B&B did a fantastic job making guests feel at home. Food served from the kitchen was delicious and professionally prepared, both breakfast and the evening dinner (though the dinner menu was limited). For guests wishing to see the area around the listing, there are many places to go and things to do, and the staff is happy to help.
WiFi was available, but the signal strength was not necessarily high in all of the rooms, so guests who absolutely need to use WiFi may wish to confirm which rooms they are staying in, but it was not a problem for me during my stay.
it was wonderful!!! very lovely and beautiful castle.!amazing rooms!!everybody there so friendly. besides arrange rooms for a big group and pay attention to all needs they also offered extra service like helping booking cars. Thanks for everything Wendy and the whole team ~Liping
About the Host, Simon & Wendy
Started life as a Victorian gentleman's folly built in 1841. It is now home to Simon & Wendy and their children Oliver & Emily, (plus Maisie the Cocker Spaniel, chickens, goats and pigs galore) who run it as a quirky, quietly groovy sort of hotel/B&B.
A real family home which welcomes guests to stay for a night or two, have supper or dinner, party or even get married. A seriously relaxed place - no false formality, but a place where you can kick off your shoes by the front door without causing a scandal!
It is an old building with small doorways and corridors but all ground floor guest areas are disabled friendly and there are two ground floor bedrooms - one with full wheelchair access.
Our rates quoted on this site are per person per night for bed & breakfast and are a starting point. All our rooms are very different and individually priced so you may find the rate changes if you request specific rooms or dates. Extra beds, dinner, wine, drinks etc are all charged in addition.
