Quirky and certainly individual space. Easy commute by bus into Edinburgh. Clive is very friendly and the place is clearly a labour of kove for him.

Hello, We staid in Clive's Cottage July 2017. It is a great home to stay, clean, has enough space to live comfortably, has a cooking space with all you need even though we missed our dishwasher :) and would recommend to anyone looking to stay near Edinburgh. We rented a car but checked bus connections before that and you would have no issue getting into Edinburgh for sightseeing. No need to travel for groceries as there is a local Supermarket. The Airport is just around the corner if arriving by plane. The Forth Road Bridge and door to the Highlands is just up the road so the location was perfect for us.

Everything was beautiful! Exactly what we wanted and needed. Close enough for us to explore everything and the surrounding areas that Scotland had to offer. Nothing was more than 2 hours away. The art work in the cottage gave a great sense of comfort.

This is a great place to stay. Near the airport, convenient to Edinburgh City Center, and nearby shopping for most of your needs. The Shower/Bath was great. The towels were large and soft. Plus there is a great hairdryer which I put to good use. The kitchen was as small as it seemed but very functional. The Living room was very comfortable and cozy. Plus a washer to boot which was what we needed when we arrived. There was a a nice ripe pineapple for us to enjoy and a lot of leftover items from previous tenants that kept shopping to a minimum. Parking was readily available and very close to the cottage. Clive had a good collection of art inside and he is quite good. Location was very convenient for travel outside Edinburgh. The weather was great. Overall it was a great experience. I would recommend Clive's place highly. While there are bus services into Edinburgh, I found it better suited for having a car to enjoy the surrounding area.

We stayed at the Exchange Cottage as part of our move to Edinburgh and it was everything we needed! The cottage is clean and cosy with all the equipment you could need. It is easy enough to get the bus into town or the airport. The area is quiet with a pub, scotmid and some takeaways. We didn't actually meet Clive but he made sure our arrival was smooth and that we knew he was there to answer any questions we had.

As a retired artist/graphic designer, I am passionate about Edinburgh's art scene. I'm a frequent theatre-goer, painter and writer, and I belong to several art groups in Edinburgh. My favourite artists are Van Gogh and Leonardo de Vinci.

My favourite thing about living in Edinburgh?
The fringe festival that happens every summer - I love going to comedy, improvisation and drama shows.

What else do I do?
I enjoy renovating and re-inventing unusual spaces. The place that I am renting out on Airbnb is a former telephone exchange. I converted it into a wonderful cottage to live in about 10 years ago - it's filled with paintings and other quirky artworks.
