Located near Kinkaku Temple (Golden Pavilion), my cozy one bedroom apartment is very convenient to get groceries, and to access many world heritages in Kyoto as well as many other nice places to go.
My apartment is simple, but I will do my best to make your stay comfortable, and the place is very convenient to get around for sightseeing.
It's a one-bedroom apartment with private bathroom and kitchen. The whole apartment is for you to use privately. The room comfortably fits 2.
I'm not living in the same building, but if you need any help I will swing by as soon as possible.
The room is equipped with wireless Internet. there's no limit on usage of data.
The estimate time to some nearest places is...
1 min to nearest bus stop with many lines of bus.
1 min to convenient store.
1 min to drugstore.
5 mins to supermarket.
1 min to McDonald's (maybe for a cup of morning coffee)
1 to 5 mins to local restaurants (Ramen shop, Izakaya, Okomiyaki shop, etc.)
The place is very convenient for sightseeing.
For example, you can start your day with Kinkaku Temple which is 5 mins away on foot from my place, then go to Ryoan Temple which is 15 mins away on foot from Kinkakuji, then Ninna Temple, 10 mins away on foot from Ryoan Temple, Then get on the Randen Tram, head to Arashiyama.
Some other nice places in walkable distance are Kitano Tenmangu, Hirano Shrine.
Other famous places is 15-30 mins away by bus.
I planned an impromptu trip to Kyoto, with less than 12 hours until my arrival. Kazu, Celestine, and Sandro responded to my queries promptly and were very accommodating of my timeline. The apartment has all the basic necessities for a comfy stay in the city. Sandro emailed me very thorough information on how to get to the apartment from the station as well as a list of amenities and tourist destinations in the area. As well, Sandro emphasized that he would be available for help if needed. Thank you for helping me make my trip a great one!
I stayed here for 9 nights. The apartment location makes me feel like I am a temporary local. Celestine’s email on how to get to the apartment is very helpful, especially the Japanese words and directions for taxi. I had to take the taxi because my flight arrived late at night and buses don’t run late. Buses are the best way to get around. Celestine’s email also contains recommendations on nice places to eat around the apartment, including a quaint Udon shack and an awesome Japanese Ramen restaurant (there is always a line there, even in the cold). Speaking of which, I was there in February and the apartment is warm and cozy (it even snowed several times). Overall, a nice and comfortable place.
The room is on the third floor, so be sure to pack lightly as you will have to carry luggage up a few flights of slightly narrow and steep stairs. There is no elevator. You can smell cigarette smoke from neighboring rooms/areas. There are washing machines available outside the room and rolling rack with hangers for drying inside the room. Laundry detergent is provided. The room has futon beds, comforters, very good heaters (one on wall and a smaller portable one), mini fridge, microwave, electric hot water pitcher, utensils, bowls, plates, dish rack, sink with detergent, small vacuum, folding chairs and table. The bathroom is kind of tiny: the toilet is very close to the wall (your knees will be touching the wall if your are taller than 5'3" and sitting on the toilet); bathtub, toilet and sink are all in the same room. They provided shampoo, conditioner, and some body wash. There is no shower curtain so the floor of the bathroom gets wet. 15min walk from Kinkaku-ji temple. 35-40min by bus from Kyoto station, more with traffic.
Nice cozy flat ideally situated for sightseeing around kyoto. Kazu anc co have been very friendly in making the flat comfortable and provided us with everything we needed during our stay
kazu's place has everything you need for a stay in kyoto. its also within walking distance to the kinkakuji and convenient to get to the other attractions.
although we didn't get to meet, kazu was really helpful. the place was simple and clean. away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is conveniently located from kinkakuji temple. everything that you need is within walking distance. convenient store, supermarket, food and beverage. we really enjoyed our stay, thanks kazu!
Kyoto is a great place and I have a wonderful experience with my stay in Kazu's. The apartment is small but nice and clean. It's also very convenient to reach other places in Kyoto by public transportation.
Kazu is very friendly and helpful. His friend Sandro is also very nice. Sandro looked after our luggages for more than 40 minutes in cold winter chilly wind while we were late for picking up them after we checked out. I am very sorry for that!
The only thing that is not very nice is we saw a small insect, like cockroach, in the kitchen in the morning. We believe it came from outside the apartment by accident.
In conclusion, this is a nice and warm place to stay.
It was a perfect place for my stay in Kyoto! I went there with a friend so the price was very very affordable, and I got more than I expected. Kazu was very helpful in giving direction to get there so no worries to get lost.
The location was awesome, and the all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurant near there (about 3 bus stops away) was SUPER GREAT in the terms of quality!
I would love to stay here again if I have the chance to go back to Kyoto. Highly recommended!
Kyoto, what a wonderful city!
About half an hour by bus away from the Kyoto central station but pretty close to some of the most interesting shrines and temples lies Kazu's apartment. The location is great if you want to be close to the Kinkaku-ji temple and I'd say it's pretty alright for everything else too.
Kazu himself was very nice and always replied very quickly to e-mails. His guide on how to get to the apartment also was really detailed and helpful. Sadly he's been busy, so we didn't have the luck of meeting him in person.
The apartment itself is not as super-fascinating as some people make it out to be. You can hear cars driving past even when the windows are closed and the bathroom is so small that a 187cm person like myself barely fits in. It is good value for the money though, I admit and if you're travelling on a tight budget I definitely recommend staying here.
Kaz was was very attentive and respond very quickly to our need. The apt was very clean.
