  • I stayed here for a night because of its convenient location to the Texas Medical Center, where I had an interview the next morning. I was unable to meet any of the hosts (Jeff or his roommate JD)--in fact, I was instructed to let myself in to an unlocked and seemingly unoccupied house for the night! I would say that the major pros of the place were its large bedroom, convenient location, and extremely affordable rate. Cons were that I found the place a bit too dirty and fratty for my taste (stained carpeting, bathroom sink with hairs and without soap dispenser, peeling wall paint). I'm not sure about the safety of the neighborhood; while east houston doesn't necessarily have the best reputation per some locals I spoke to and the area is surrounded by warehouses and the highway, the flip side is that the area is residential and the hosts did after all feel comfortable leaving the house door unlocked!

In the end, I would say that this place is perfect for the backpacker/college student type on a budget, and staying with Jeff was definitely sufficient for my needs.

  • Jeff is a great guy, very receptive to any requests.
Bedroom/air bed is comfortable, private, closet is a decent size, wireless is fast.
Location is very central, but you would be best served by having a car.

  • Jeff is really a friendly interesting guy. Wish we could spend more time together and hear his great histories about India :)
House is in a very safe neighbourhood and Jeff is super reliable! He left us totally free, as house was our own and was very kind receiving tones of packages for us. We REALLY thank him for that.
Neighbourhood has pubic transportation to all around the city although I do not recommend staying there if you will need public transportation, because you can get everywhere but probably will have to take 2 busses for it. Anyhow Houston is not public transportation friendly anyhow.
Room is really big, has a nice sofa and closet, so you will feel very comfortable :)
Boys in the house are young and party, so it's a great place to stay if you want to make friend and enjoy the university environment ;)

  • Location, location, location! That is why I chose this place. I attended a convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center and needed to save some money. This place is only a couple of blocks away from the metro bus terminal. So I walk a couple of blocks, hop on the bus and get off very near to the convention center. I know I saved a lot of money by staying at this place than at a hotel near the convention center.

  • Jeffrey was great! He was very accommodating and answered any questions we had efficiently. The place is in a quiet neighborhood that felt safe. As far as the room goes, you get what you pay for- simple room and the bed was a comfortable queen sized air mattress.

  • Jeff was a very helpful and friendly host, answered all the questions, showed me around and I felt really comfortable at his place. I could use his bicycle which helped a lot. The accommodation is in a quiet place with good public transport connection and close to highway. It's just a pity I we didn't have time to go out together.
