It has a king size organic bed, eclectic selection of books and a desk. This casita is offered with the guest cabin for an additional $65.00 per night. Photos will be posted when it's available.
This ranch sanctuary is a magical place for writers, musicians and creative people and anyone who is into true healing and reconnection with nature. It is in the mountains and all the property, including the guest house, has a hippy bohemian feel to it. A little trippy and a little funky but absolutely cool!
Wireless Internet provided, NETFLIX now available, loads of eclectic books to read by the seasonal creek, outside on the patio area or by the alpacas and Milagro, our wonderful Peruvian Paso horse. Nice Boom box which allows for CDs/iPod and/or iPhone dock to play your own music.
If you're a SURFER or a BEACH LOVER you will be thrilled to be less than 10 minutes to one of the most beautiful and greatest surfing beaches in Malibu - Leo Carrillo Beach! Approximately 5 miles to Pacific Coast Highway brings you right into Leo Carrillo where you can surf or just simply hang out at this lovely north end beach.

We have various animals on the property (alpacas, horses, dogs, chickens etc) so if you are uncomfortable being around these animals then it might be best to book a more urban retreat. Our yellow labs, Pancake and Marmalade will most likely come to greet you upon arrival!
Being up in the hills please be aware we have all the elements that go along with Malibu Living which include various wildlife including coyotes, bobcats, hawks, etc. etc. It is not unusual to hear coyotes howling at night. It is true nature here and everything that goes along with that so please understand this is a rural Malibu lifestyle.

We enjoyed our stay here! Suzanne was very gracious and checked on us throughout our stay. I was here to train on my road bike; I was able to ride my road bike up and down the long dirt/gravel driveway. The complimentary gift certificate to the Sunset restaurant was a nice treat.
We had a wonderful time at Milagro! Everything was as advertised, the alpacas are the softest fluffiest beings ever! Suzanne is an amazing host, she was very attentive and provided us with everything we needed! The complimentary wine was really good. The first day I was a bit nervous about the drive up the windy hill since we arrived at night, but it got easier every time and we actually enjoyed the ride a lot.
Thank you, Suzanne! We hope to see you again!
This place is really a paradise!!!, with the most lovely people living there, fresh air, silence (from traffic! you can hear birds, alpacas, wind, your kid(s) laughing, you own thoughts :-) ... )
We stayed in Suzanne`s Malibu Sanctuary two weeks in the middle of our three months stay in LA (and nearby) area. Suzanne and her daughter are the most welcoming hosts that we have ever met!!! They kindly let our two-year old son to meet and pet the alpacas (nearly) every day ;-) because he was so interested in those wonderful, super cute and curious animals! My husband had luxury quietness and own "office" (in Casita) for writing and I was so excited by the hiking trails nearby, and testing my mountain bike.
You´d definitely love staying here if you`re looking for a place relax (this guesthouse and casita really has its own privacy too and the beds are fantastic!), to see something special at your holiday (not only busy city life), let your kid(s) run around in the joyful garden) or do day-hikes at Santa Monica Mountains or Malibu beaches. And if you have a bicycle, don´t leave it at home! Mulholland highway was very safe (not many cars going) even for a beginner and good workout, and you´ll find off-road trails pretty near too. If you enjoy hiking, don´t miss nearby Sandstone Peak (the tallest point in Santa Monica mountains). The views are just breathtaking and you´ll find a place to meditate or have a nice picnic outdoors.
If we lived nearer, we´d make this our getaway place, and when not (it´s pretty long flight to Finland :-D), we just want to be back here in our next holiday! (or who knows, maybe even this one!)

Amazing stay!! This place is truly a find. Nestled in the hills, this ranch offers the peace, and healing solitude while being surrounded by nature and beautiful animals. Suzanne and her family are amazing hosts. Always there if you need anything, yet respectful of your space. The first night, I arrived a little later than I should have and not being familiar with the area, Suzanne stayed on the phone with me the whole drive in to make sure I arrived safely.
The bed in the main guest house is SO comfortable, you just can snuggle down into the blissful quiet of the night. The claw tub was amazing. It’s just like the pictures provided and more. Netflix was available to watch as well as the little amenities were provided for like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, bath salts, etc that were available.
While I brought an army full of food we were pleasantly surprised to find Suzanne had graciously left us some yummy goodies and a bottle of wine! Ah… the right way to start a mini-vacation. The next morning I thought I was having a blonde moment when I could seem to get the coffee maker going. Although Suzanne told me to call ANYTIME if I needed ANYTHING I couldn’t see ringing her at 5:30 am on a Saturday morning. Finally after 90 minutes of unsuccessful attempts at the coffee maker, I rang them up. In 10 minutes the whole family came down and Suzanne not only brought another coffee maker but a French press as well to get us started immediately with coffee. Lol. This is the kind of FABulous these hosts are.
Was very cool that my BFF could bring his dog to stay with us (they are inseparable) and we enjoyed the short drive down the hill to Leo Carrillo beach (one of the few beaches you can actually bring your dogs) and he enjoyed hiking locally around the area. We both loved talking to all the family members as we found kindred souls in all of them. Had another friend come up the next day and she enjoyed getting the chance to feed the adorable Alpaca on the farm. They are truly fascinating animals. Their golden retrievers Marmalade and Pancake are adorable and Marmalade has a steady girlfriend now with my friend’s dog. I loved their horse Milagro.
I’m a Reiki master and can be very sensitive to energies. This place buzzes with healing energy. It’s palpable and amazing. I highly recommend this place for anyone who needs a spiritually rejuvenating experience.
All in all I really can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay there other than it was just too short. We will definitely be back again and are planning on it being our little escape getaway that’s not too far from home but far enough for a complete change of scenery and vibe from the big city.
Suzanne and her family are incredibly warm and hospitable and made sure that we were content and happy. The land is lovely, the animals were calm and soothing, and there were great views of the moonrise each night. Also, the cabin is close to hiking and Leo Carrillo state park, which includes my favorite Southern California beach, with tide pools, jutting rocks and cliffs. We can't wait to go back.
We had a truly wonderful stay at the ranch! The surrounding mountains are really breathtaking and it is only a short drive down to the beaches. Suzanne and her daughter were so welcoming and generous with us throughout our stay and the guest house is extremely charming and comfortable. (The bed is amazing!!!). We were able to really unwind. We are also big time animal lovers so we got ample time with the alpacas and Suzanne's super friendly dogs. There were fresh eggs from the chickens and a great spread of snacks and sweets already stocked in the cabin. We hope to go back someday and highly recommend this magical place to any outdoor or animal lovers.
I stayed in Suzanne's fantastically relaxing guest house for 3 nights. The property was great- safe, secluded, and quiet with friendly animals roaming, including some incredibly sweet alpacas! The house has a great layout, plenty of space, a fully stocked kitchen with gas range (which was important since I was there preparing food for 25 people!), and has the amenities of a full spa complete with a variety of bath salts, plenty of towels and blankets and everything else to make me feel like I was on vacation. My girlfriend joined me for the last night and she was so happy as well, which is saying a lot. ;) We rested so peacefully and didn't want to leave.
Suzanne, the host, was one of the most caring and accommodating people I've met. She greeted me upon my arrival, showed me around, and even helped me unload my things. She really added to my experience as I felt like I had a concierge and friend on site.
The experience we had was no doubt sacred and special and I am so happy I discovered this place and Suzanne. Wonderful all around. Look no further!
We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was at Milagro! Suzanne is a very gracious host and the property is just LOVELY and so peaceful and serene. The stars are insanely bright at night, and the quiet is just astounding. I stayed here with my mother, brother, and his fiancee. My mother and I shared the main house, while my brother and his fiancee shared the casita. We were all beyond comfortable, warm and protected against the cool November mountain winds in our incredibly comfortable beds. My mom found many books to read and I was able to entertain my brother with the movie "Sharknado" on Netflix on the TV in the living area (hilarious and terrible, by the way). We found more than enough blankets, sheets, and towels for our use and TONS of dishes and cookware which was perfect because we stayed for Thanksgiving! The animals were the icing on the cake at Milagro; they are precious! It was such a pleasure to wake up to their happy faces every morning. If you enjoy nature, or are seeking a peaceful getaway, this is your place. We really hope to return someday, although now my mother is inspired to buy her OWN sanctuary on a mountaintop in southern California, away from the humidity of Florida! Thanks Suzanne!
What a magical place! If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place to get away from it all- this is it! Yet so close to all amenities you may needs....just an easy 15-20 minute drive through the canyons. And how fun those are to drive through - day or night! At night stop and get out of the car and watch the stars....and hear how still everything is. Amazing.
Suzanne is a gracious host who is very caring and makes sure you have everything you need. Super helpful, there when needed and also leaves you the privacy you are looking for. And did I mention the bed yet? It's more comfortable than any fancy hotel bed!!
The animals are nice to have near, yet they are not noisy. The cottage is a great size and I enjoyed the large sliding glass windows a lot - the yard is lit up at night and it's a lovely view.
I hope to visit again, the perfect spot to feel like you are a world away....thanks Suzanne! all the best to you and Milagro sanctuary!
This place is magic !!! A peaceful sanctuary surrounded by good vibes <3
