Man what a great place, what a GREAT hostess. She left lots of little breakfast nibbles for us in the room, plus bread(gluten free on request) and butter and jam and fresh squeezed orange juice magically appeared in the mornings (and a delicious smoothie on our last day). Lora was so friendly and helpful lovely to talk to. Area had many trails within walking distance. Tons of wildlife. Walking distance to downtown. Only wish was that the TV and cable were situated in the same room as the big bed.
Lora's home is clean, inviting, and comfortable. There is no other place in Ojai that gives us the opportunity to feel at home, live like a local, and be able to walk just about anywhere. The sound of the fountain, the privacy, and the lovely little extras (morning coffee and breakfast, fresh fruit) made this one of our favorite spots on AirBnB. Thank you so much, Lora, for being a wonderful and gracious host.
What a wonderful stay with such a pleasant host. The freshly squeezed orange juice was almost worth the price of the stay!
The hacienda was great for my friend and I. We had separate bedrooms just down the hall from each other with the bathroom in between. We enjoyed cereal, fresh fruit and tea at the outside table next to the fountain.
I loved Ojai and definitely would stay here again.
Lora was a wonderful host/hostess. The description of the property was accurate. The property and accomations are spacious, home linand beautifully decorated. Lora had thought of ever detail such as bottled water, tea, coffee, bath salts etc. We enjoyed a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice each day.
I believe Lora could teach a class in how to operate an air b and b operation.
My traveling companion and I hope to return to her beautiful home in the future.
Thank you Lora,
Lora generously accepted a reservation for out of town friends of mine visiting from Canada in the Southern California area. They were thrilled with Lora, her beautiful and comfortable hacienda and her friendly manner. Her many special touches made them feel at home immediately. They wish they could have stayed longer and would certainly stay with Lora again.
If you want a place to stay in Ojai this is it! Lora has numerous 5 star reviews for the Oak Haven Hacienda but I was still surprised at how wonderful our experience was. Imagine you are visiting a really cool friend and lucky enough to be staying at her amazing home in Ojai. Lora was always around when we needed her but it felt like we had the entire home to ourselves. Delicious cereals and fruit with tea and coffee were supplemented each morning with fresh squeezed orange juice. The hacienda is in a quiet picturesque Ojai neighborhood within walking distance of the town and restaurants. I was travelling with my two adult children and in the middle of the stay a friend joined us. Lora was completely flexible and accomodating about arrival and departure times, how many people would be staying and on what nights. There were 3 rooms available to us and up to 5 people could sleep in the 1 double and 3 single beds. We had our own bathroom and our living space generally was the hacienda courtyard, although one of the rooms had a table we could sit at. The birds would wake us in the morning in flocks visiting the bubbling fountain. I particlularly appreciated and enjoyed the gardens, Lora is an avid and talented gardener. We did not have access to cooking facilities, but that was just as well because Ojai has numerous restaurants and we were on vacation. Do no forget to visit the Sunday Ojai Farmers Market, Santa Barbara was an easy drive and numerous hiking trails can be found in the area.
THANK YOU LORA, I hope I get a chance to return for a repeat visit. Definitely a place to return to!
Lora was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home right away. She shared with us maps and books on where to hike and what to see in the area. She made herself accessible by phone at all times if we should need her. But Lora has such a light presence, we never saw or noticed her again.
The neighborhood was gorgeous and we were within walking distance to the center of Ojai. A big plus because that little town can have some fierce weekend traffic. We were glad to be able to tool around effortlessly on our own two feet.
We had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom to ourselves (basically a wing of the house) and had we so chosen there was a separate private TV room that we could have used. We used one bedroom as a staging area (we are hikers and gear hounds) and the other room to sleep.
Each morning we sat on her beautiful patio, drank her delicious freshly squeezed orange juice, completely undisturbed and alone. We would have late afternoon cocktails on the patio and watch the sun set as if her magnificent home were our own.
It was truly the oasis we needed so desperately.
We cannot recommend Lora and her home more highly.
