About this listing
I enjoy meeting airbnb guests as they're some of the world's nicest people.
The pictured fountain is now gone, being replaced by a tree. Linens are sun-dried, so wrinkled but smell good. I stock cereals so pls. let me know what type milk you want.
Private suite with two bedrooms & one full bath. It has its own hand-carved wood front courtyard door. A mediterranean-style courtyard with a large fountain and hammock is yours to use.
One bedroom has a queen-size memory foam bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed. The beds are extremely comfortable. The bathroom is beautifully tiled, true to the hacienda feel of oak haven. There's a small refrigerator in a cabinet in the hallway in which you'll find cold water infused with cucumbers, mint or lemons.
You can grind your own coffee beans or make your tea with filtered water in the courtyard or an outside room. This room has a dining room table & four chairs, a TV, a refrigerator and single bed. It's also a lockable place for bikes.
Stay near downtown yet surrounded by a beautiful hiking areas right from your door. The hacienda is peaceful and comfortable.
There is an Ojai trolley which has a stop about 1/4 mile away.
Please book for a two-night minimum.
The courtyard, the orchard area with bench and chair, and the backyard are available.

Other Things to Note
High quality shampoo, shower gel, soap and hand lotion are provided from a "refill" store.
Towels & bed linens are line-dried (therefore wrinkled). Organics when possible.
Have fun, laugh often until 10:00 p.m., then more quietly, pls. The suite is a wing of the house so you're not close to anyone, but it's usually a quiet neighborhood.
Please no pets or smoking on premises. Breakfast has been discontinued but there are two refrigerators, a coffee maker w/coffee and a toaster avail. and cereals stocked for simple breakfast self-preparation. I can't seem to make the changes on the initial description, but there's a separate TV/dining room away from the suite.
Pls. leave dirty dishes, etc. on courtyard table.
Pls. put on your outside light when you won't be back until after dark.
Please pull straight into where furthest concrete square is after unloading in the driveway. Thanks!
Lora was a gracious and accommodating host. She provided us a very supportive environment for our stay. She attended to every detail. Would make a trip to Ojai, just to stay at Oak haven Hacienda as a retreat.
Staying with Lora at the Hacienda was magical. She contacted us before hand to check if there was anything we needed. The instructions were clear. When we arrived, she was there to meet us. The hacienda is a great place to stay and relax. The rooms were fantastic, Lora has great style. Lora was great to chat to and very helpful when we wanted to go for a hike in the Canyon. She also provided us with fresh orange juice and a variety of coffee and tea in the mornings. We really enjoyed staying with Lora and hope to be back in Ojai some day.
Overall, our stay at Lora's was great. It's a very nice little private suite, with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The house and garden were beautiful, the street was quiet, and the location was really convenient. It was also great having cereal and fresh orange juice in the morning.
There was only one downside to our stay, which was the heat. We happened to visit Ojai on a super hot weekend, and on our first night we came home to find our room very, very hot. It turns out there was some problem with the AC, but after speaking to Lora in the morning it was resolved, and our second night was nice and cool. So nothing major to worry about for future guests it would seem.
At 12:30 a.m. when Eva awakened us, the outside temperature was 70 degrees and we were asleep. An alternate way to handle it would have been to open windows, turn on the overhead fan and give it 10 minutes for the ambient temperature to fall. The AC had been programed to come on only above 70, and the sensor was not in the closed-up wing.
Lora made us feel very welcome and her house was beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed for a quick breakfast and the fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning was really appreciated! The garden and courtyard were lovely. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in 3 different AirBnBs on a recent trip to L.A., and this was by far the nicest. The pictures do not do the property justice! It's a beautiful setting with a large garden, and the property is very spacious and well laid-out, as well as beautifully designed. Lora was most welcoming, especially considering we had two rambunctious toddlers with us, and had a lot of helpful information about Ojai. We loved the fresh fruit and juice, and the ability to make coffee and tea and serve ourselves breakfast. We had a wonderful stay.
We felt very welcome here and had an amazing time. Laura asked us what milk we wanted before we got here. We arrived very late, but Laura was waiting for us and showed us to find everything. She offered us different kinds of milk, cereals, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea, coffee and fruits from her garden! Every guest will probably mention how beautiful her home is. Very charming and calming place for a getaway. Hanging out in her courtyard is definitely a highlight in our trip.
Lora has a beautiful home in Ojai. She met us when we arrived and let us know where to find everything. It was a perfect getaway for our family of four. My favorite part was sitting with my coffee in the morning in the lovely courtyard! Wonderful home, wonderful host!
