Tracy and Forrest's was the 2/3 B&B's I stayed at in Atlanta. Had I found their place first, it would've been only 2/2. I can't say enough good things about the house and experience.
You ever been to a place that looks like it was decorated to impress other people? This isn't it. Tracy's place looks like it was decorated to impress her, which gives it amazing personality.
I could call it "industrial kitsch" or "modern comfort", but that wouldn't do it justice. It's got cool cultural pieces and historical artifacts, while also exuding this Americana charm. I had my first good night's sleep in three weeks there.
Additionally, the house is clean; it's comfortable and very reasonably priced. I've lived in a handful of old houses and historic buildings, and if it's one thing I know about them, they "talk". The wood in Tracy's house seems to be in great condition.
When other guests moved around I generally heard them, not the house. That's no small feat in an old house. To top it off, it's a short walk to the Oakland City MARTA station.
Oh, I forgot to mention Forrest picked me up! One little gesture that helped so much as I had shoulder bags which would've been awkward to walk with.
If I wasn't moving here, I'd book this place on every visit. I've already recommended it to both my mom and a friend and had no qualms in doing so.
If you made it this far through the review, just book it.
I had a wonderful time at Tracy and Forrest's house. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to meet Tracy, but I was warmly greeted by Forrest who showed me around their beautiful house and introduced me to their three awesome and friendly dogs. Due to being at a conference for most of the weekend, I didn't get to do much other than sleep at their place, but it would be a wonderful pad to lounge around sipping wine either indoors or outdoors, and I highly recommend doing so if time permits for you. I also need to mention that the room where I stayed was beautifully decorated, well organized, and clean. There was even a bathrobe with slippers in the room, as well as plenty of towels. The folks staying at the pad were all friendly and welcoming. The house is conveniently located about a quarter of a mile from the Oakland City MARTA stop, which is only four stops south of Downtown and about five or six stops north of the airport. Because I'm not that familiar with Atlanta, GA, I don't know how safe the neighborhood is, but I took the MARTA, even late into the evening, and did not have any problems. In sum, I would highly recommend staying at Tray and Forrest's house if you are planning a trip to Atlanta.
Had an amazing time... Highly recommend for outgoing social types.
I loved Tracy's house in Oakland City, ATL. The neighborhood might seem a little sketchy, but if you are without a car, as we were, it's worth being only a 5 minute walk from the nearest MARTA station. Tracy made it really easy for us to come and go as we pleased, and aside from some slight issues with a loose-closing bedroom door, the accommodations were lovely.
Rather than go into all sorts of detail I'll keep things simple and just say that (1) Tracy was the nicest, most thoughtful Air BnB host I've had the pleasure to meet (2) Her place is charming. Her taste is eclectic, homey, comfortable and practical.
Some Air BnB's are really just a house with a bed stuck in a corner. This had both the feeling of home and was thoughtfully laid out specifically with guests in mind.
To those who don't know Atlanta. The neighborhood may not be one of the name brand / "fancy" districts but it's a convenient, safe location.
This was a charming little place to stay! My husband and I spent one night as we were road tripping down from Michigan to Florida and loved the way the house was decorated. It was very clean, yet home-y feeling. There were 2 baths and no congestion at all. We had full access to the fridge which made it easy to store food and cook ourselves breakfast, lunch and dinner, which on a long drive is amazing because so much is spent on eating out. The only thing to consider is that the neighborhood is pretty run down and looks a bit knarly especially if you're arriving at night. Despite appearances, we slept peacefully and had no trouble at all.
Tracy is a great host. The house is beautiful and her dogs are so nice. I came to Atlanta for my job without a place to call home, and she helped me find a place convenient to work. The room I stayed at was so nice. Thank you Tracy, again for everything!
Staying at Tracys place was perfect. It felt like home. She is a great host. Having a drink with Tracy and her friends, after a long day on the road was the perfect way to get relaxed. If l will be back in Atlanta it would be Tracys place. Loved it. Thanks a lot. Susanne
The house is beautiful and very well decorated in a neighborhood which is... up and coming, shall we say? Very close to major attractions and Marta so you might not need a car if you do everything via public transportation but you do need to find a way to stock up on food if you're here for awhile as there are no grocery stores or restaurants in walking distance (that I could find anyways!) there was bread and jam out in the kitchen if you wanted a quick breakfast in the morning.
The house had many occupants from all different countries which gave it à fun vibe, and there were no issues sharing bathrooms. Our room was the farthest from a bathroom so I would not recommend it if you're the type of person that needs to get up frequently during the night (2 baby gates for the dogs to get through which is complicated half asleep!).
The 2 dogs are very nice and generally quiet except when they do their job of guard dogs - which you are thankful for considering the neighborhood but which makes it difficult to fall back asleep afterwards!
Finally on the owner - Tracy is very friendly and easy to chat with, and readily answers questions on the surrounding area - what more do you need from a host?!
All in all a good place to stay in Atlanta.
I had a great stay. The house is well thought out and comfortable. Tracy is a great host and I would stay there again if staying in Atlanta.
