The Space

Very Convenient Location - Steps from Metro Stop (Oakland City Marta Station), located near downtown(3 stops south of five points station), super easy commute to Airport(4 stops north of airport). Capitol View is a residential neighborhood, with a bohemian mixed with inner city vibe. Transitional neighborhood with lots of urban pioneering going on.

5 bedroom brick 1920's brick bungalow with creative, stylish decor, classic vintage details, spacious rooms, and nice big kitchen available for guests to use.

Each room has an en-suite vanity sink and a big industrial desk with office chair.

2 full bathrooms are shared by guests. I live downstairs in the in-law suite and have my own bathroom.

Easy going host that is helpful and wants guests to feel like they are staying with family or friends. Guests are usually very considerate and interesting to chat with.

2 very sweet and loving dogs(Mayfield and Veruca) who co-host.

Social atmosphere, but also peaceful, calm and tranquil.

No TVs here, only music.

Free WIFI, Parking, and laundry facilities.

Very fresh and clean. Quality cotton linens and bedding.

This is one of 3 properties in the same neighborhood that I host guests in, with similar decor and amenities. When booking a Private Room, you will be staying in one of them. I will give you the exact address as your reservation dates approach. I very much look forward to hosting you, and I want to make your stay here in Atlanta the best it can be! Tracy

  • As usual, my stay with Tracy and Forrest was great! Unlike previous stays, they actually had a cookout planned and invited me to join. I am so grateful for their hospitality. Everyone welcomed me just like they would an old friend. I will continue to recommend this listing to everyone that's looking for a place to stay in the Atlanta area. Forrest even returned a shirt to me that I forgot during a previous stay. Tracy and Forrest make a habit of going above and beyond for their guests. I look forward to my next stay with them!

  • Once again, I experienced the best of hospitality from Tracy and Forrest with my recent trip to Atlanta. Highly recommended!

  • I absolutely loved staying at Tracy and Forrest's! The care they have put in to decorating the bungalow is evident in every detail. Extremely tasteful and stylish. My room was luxurious and calming, with an enormous bed that felt like a cloud. As there are only two bathrooms shared by the four guest rooms, I really appreciated the details that separated this AirBNB from feeling like a boarding house - the private sinks in every room, and the provided white fuzzy robe to wear back and forth from the bathroom. I also really appreciated that we had full use of the kitchen and laundry facilities.

There were several other very cool guests who were there as well, but everyone was very private and quiet. If I hadn't been in town for work and therefore been out all day long, I would have loved to meet the other travelers! I did, however, bond with Tracy's super lovable dogs and miss them so much already.

Hope to return on my next business trip!

  • Tracy and Forrest's was the 2/3 B&B's I stayed at in Atlanta. Had I found their place first, it would've been only 2/2. I can't say enough good things about the house and experience.

You ever been to a place that looks like it was decorated to impress other people? This isn't it. Tracy's place looks like it was decorated to impress her, which gives it amazing personality.

I could call it "industrial kitsch" or "modern comfort", but that wouldn't do it justice. It's got cool cultural pieces and historical artifacts, while also exuding this Americana charm. I had my first good night's sleep in three weeks there.
Additionally, the house is clean; it's comfortable and very reasonably priced. I've lived in a handful of old houses and historic buildings, and if it's one thing I know about them, they "talk". The wood in Tracy's house seems to be in great condition.
When other guests moved around I generally heard them, not the house. That's no small feat in an old house. To top it off, it's a short walk to the Oakland City MARTA station.
Oh, I forgot to mention Forrest picked me up! One little gesture that helped so much as I had shoulder bags which would've been awkward to walk with.

If I wasn't moving here, I'd book this place on every visit. I've already recommended it to both my mom and a friend and had no qualms in doing so.

If you made it this far through the review, just book it.

  • I had a wonderful time at Tracy and Forrest's house. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to meet Tracy, but I was warmly greeted by Forrest who showed me around their beautiful house and introduced me to their three awesome and friendly dogs. Due to being at a conference for most of the weekend, I didn't get to do much other than sleep at their place, but it would be a wonderful pad to lounge around sipping wine either indoors or outdoors, and I highly recommend doing so if time permits for you. I also need to mention that the room where I stayed was beautifully decorated, well organized, and clean. There was even a bathrobe with slippers in the room, as well as plenty of towels. The folks staying at the pad were all friendly and welcoming. The house is conveniently located about a quarter of a mile from the Oakland City MARTA stop, which is only four stops south of Downtown and about five or six stops north of the airport. Because I'm not that familiar with Atlanta, GA, I don't know how safe the neighborhood is, but I took the MARTA, even late into the evening, and did not have any problems. In sum, I would highly recommend staying at Tray and Forrest's house if you are planning a trip to Atlanta.

  • I loved Tracy's house in Oakland City, ATL. The neighborhood might seem a little sketchy, but if you are without a car, as we were, it's worth being only a 5 minute walk from the nearest MARTA station. Tracy made it really easy for us to come and go as we pleased, and aside from some slight issues with a loose-closing bedroom door, the accommodations were lovely.

  • Rather than go into all sorts of detail I'll keep things simple and just say that (1) Tracy was the nicest, most thoughtful Air BnB host I've had the pleasure to meet (2) Her place is charming. Her taste is eclectic, homey, comfortable and practical.

Some Air BnB's are really just a house with a bed stuck in a corner. This had both the feeling of home and was thoughtfully laid out specifically with guests in mind.

To those who don't know Atlanta. The neighborhood may not be one of the name brand / "fancy" districts but it's a convenient, safe location.

    Thanks Tracy!

  • This was a charming little place to stay! My husband and I spent one night as we were road tripping down from Michigan to Florida and loved the way the house was decorated. It was very clean, yet home-y feeling. There were 2 baths and no congestion at all. We had full access to the fridge which made it easy to store food and cook ourselves breakfast, lunch and dinner, which on a long drive is amazing because so much is spent on eating out. The only thing to consider is that the neighborhood is pretty run down and looks a bit knarly especially if you're arriving at night. Despite appearances, we slept peacefully and had no trouble at all.

  • Tracy is a great host. The house is beautiful and her dogs are so nice. I came to Atlanta for my job without a place to call home, and she helped me find a place convenient to work. The room I stayed at was so nice. Thank you Tracy, again for everything!

Easy going, creative type. I like cooking, entertaining, local, organic food, yoga, good wine, lots of good music, art, film, animals, nature, sailing, the ocean, traveling, calm and tranquil spaces, and I try to find beauty in all things. I like to have fun and not take life too seriously. I enjoy hosting and meeting new friends from all cultures and backgrounds and don't really follow the mainstream of American culture much at all. I am a realtor and love to buy houses and fix them up. I have quite a few places where I host guests and try to be as accommodating as possible, so you will also have a co-host, Forrest. and his handsome pooch, Odin, here to make sure your stay if a great one.
