Caroline and Jack were wonderful hosts and the house was such a fun and interesting place to call home for a few days. They've done a great job of reviving and dressing up the beautiful bones of an old classic in town. The house is in north downtown, my favorite neighborhood. Tons of charm in a relatively quiet and leafy street, and just a few block walk to the pedestrian mall where there are tons of food and entertainment options. The room is cozy and has plenty of storage. In addition to fresh towels, Caroline and Jack have tea and coffee set up in the room - a really nice touch. I had an opportunity to get to know them both over coffee in the dining room as well. They're sweet people doing some really interesting things. They made me feel totally at home. This was the first time I'd tried a "Private room" on Airbnb (had only tried the "Entire home/apt" option previously) and am glad I did. Getting to know the folks whose home you're staying in makes the experience that much more interesting. Especially when their good people! Thanks, Caroline and Jack. I look forward to seeing you again.
Loved my one night in this extremely comfortable house! Great location near the downtown mall; calm hosts; beautiful place. Highly recommended.
We were very happy with both our hosts and the house. Great location and warm comfy bed! We would stay here again -
Caroline and Jack were fantastic hosts and my boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, they had laid out water, coffee, and tea, and gave me the tour. This cozy room is on the second floor with a balcony and shared bath. Though we didn't use the downstairs common spaces much, we felt entirely welcome and comfortable staying the two nights. And the location was proximal enough to the Downtown Mall that we walked in the foot-high snow to the movie theater and dinner! We would definitely stay here again, especially for the reasonable price.
Great hosts. Great house. Great city. Thank you Caroline.
This is our second time staying with Caroline and Jack, and we had another lovely stay with them! Their home is in such a perfect location to explore Charlottesville, and they are really wonderful hosts. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when we're visiting Charlottesville!
My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely experience with Caroline and Jack. Very much appreciated the hospitality and the warm welcome. The house itself is beautiful and complete with comfortable beds and a great, proximal location to the Mall. We shall be back the next time we pass through Charlottesville!
This is a terrific place to stay for proximity to the downtown mall, and was just perfect for me. Everything was very thoughtfully arranged in the bedroom, a pitcher of fresh water, french press with fresh local coffee and a variety of teas. Access to a lovely private porch from the bedroom, complete with a refrigerator. A luxurious bathtub (with shower too) with all kinds of special bathing soaps and salts. Caroline was working when I arrived so I didn't get to meet her but her husband Jack was very welcoming and gave me a tour. I will definitely return!
Very nice accommodations and great hosts with such convenient location to the walking mall. We really enjoyed our time at Caroline and Jack's place and hope to be back to the Charlottesville area soon - will be looking to stay here again when the time comes. Highly recommend.
The room and house are beautiful!
