The Space

Condo with a uniquely secluded vibe but is one block off one of the most luxurious, scenic, lively and safe neighborhoods in the city.

--Cozy queen sized bed with down comforter and a wide and comfortable sofa that can also sleep one very comfortably.

--Well equipped kitchen with gas stove, dishwasher, disposal, coffeemaker, and everything you need to make a great meal, including staples and condiments.

--I can provide information about the neighborhood restaurants, shops, sights, recreation and so on. I've lived in San Francisco for 13 years and know not only every corner of the city but also the surrounding areas.

Private deck for chilling and watching the hummingbirds and wild parrots.

Wireless internet, Smart TV, Dish Satellite. Sonos speaker and system with Pandora (connected through TV).

--Full bathroom with tub/shower and fan and window that opens.

-- A block away from the street noise so very quiet at night for sleeping. But full disclosure--It is a ground floor condo in an old wood-frame building, typical in San Francisco. Footsteps and creaky floorboards from upstairs are audible so if that will drive you crazy, this place is not for you. However, there is little to no stereo or TV sounds audible from upstairs

Guest Access

Strong wireless internet, Smart TV, all appliances and cooking utensils, linens and towels, books, deck, parking spot. I have a ton of CDs you are welcome to use-- jazz, indie, classical, country-- just bring your portable device to play them.

Interaction with Guests

I am always available by text, phone or email before and during your stay. I will respond as quickly as possible. During July I will be staying on a property adjacent to my condo so can help in person with any needs that might arise.

The Neighborhood

Best part, in my opinion! Poised in walking distance to several distinct and wonderful locations--this is the most picturesque and scenic area of San Francisco, with spectacular views of the bay around every corner. People- and dog-watching galore! You will be right in the heart of the Union and Chestnut Street areas of Cow Hollow Marina areas, which is a destination area, with many exquisite dining, coffee, and cocktail places and fun sports bars. Pacific Heights "high street" area on Fillmore is a 15 minute walk up the hill. For shopping, much that is high end but with an earthy blend of shops that offer unique, excellent value apparel, antiques or mid-century furnishings, consignments from some wealthy ladies with amazing taste.

The nightlife and brunch-life here is lively and mixes Michelin-rated restaurants with a peppering of dive and sports bars.

You are walking distance to a beautiful, much photographed beach (Crissy Field). The view of the Golden Gate Bridge is unparalled in the city, and there is off-leash dog beach, and pedestrian and biking trails which can take you right over the bridge to Sausalito. There is another park with free tennis and basketball courts a ten minute walk up the hill in Pacific Heights--panoramic views of the city. The Presidio Park which is huge and full of eucalyptus trees, more tennis courts, and a vast network of trails is another ten minute walk in a different!

For driving or cycling, you can in ten minutes cross the Bridge and be in glorious hiking and cycling terrain-- Mt. Tam, Marin Headlands, as well as cute Marin towns like Sausalito, Mill Valley, and Larkspur. These are all afternoon trips.

Getting around

Free off street parking!!! Rare in this city. Important-- this is for compact cars only, and be forewarned, it's a slightly tricky spot to get into--typical of San Francisco-- but totally doable for able drivers in compact vehicles.

A major advantage of my place is the proximity to MUNI, the bus system in San Francisco. It's accessible within a few hundred yards of my condo. MUNI can take you all over the city for two bucks a ride.

You can get Uber black cars, Lyft, or all kinds of transport provided by folks on car shares. You can hail a cab on the street too.

For a one day stint to Muir Woods, there are buses that can take you there and pick you up around here. And lots of bike rentals which is a fantastic option, given the proximity to bike routes that can take you across Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito (and you can take the ferry back to San Francisco, and bike home!)

Other Things to Note

This is my home. It is not meant to be sterile like a hotel room and I will have my belongings here. It will be clean, uncluttered, nicely decorated, and I'd like you to enjoy my little objects d'art and books and CDs and so on, so they are here for you to enjoy and to use). Random but important notes: This condo iis not child-proofed. And in case you have dog allergies--a non-shedding dog lives here (although he obviously won't be here when you visit!).

  • We had a wonderful stay at Natalie's place. It's not only well-located but also nice, cosy and practical. We could access very easily the different spots to visit in San Francisco with the MUNI (the bus stop (email hidden)) and we enjoyed coming back in Natalie 's quiet neighborhood every night. They are also great shops, restaurants and cafes at a few blocks.
Natalie gave us all the information and help we needed. We asked her for a cot for our baby. Even she didn't have one by herself, she looked for one with a friend of hers. That was a kind and helpfull attention.

  • The place is better than it looks in the pics! The parking is very tight; she is not kidding when she says it's only for small cars, and if you're from the flatlands it can be a bit intimidating- but after a little practice we managed. The upstairs neighbors have a couple of little kids who thunder around, but it's easy enough to tune out.

Now for the good stuff! The place was spotless when we arrived, with fresh flowers and clean towels left out. The queen bed was very comfy and warm. Wi-fi was strong. The neighborhood was safe and well-kept (a local friend remarked at how nice it was) and there's a bus stop less than a block away, as well as plenty of food options within walking distance. After walking up and down hills it was nice to have a beautiful patio where we could relax, with a gorgeous potted Japanese maple and pear trees- and hummingbirds! The stone floors in the living room are so pretty. Smart TV was available for us to use, so we had Netflix and Pandora.

Natalie was an excellent communicator, helping me to find things like the shared washer and dryer (a nice bonus if you have a long stay) and even bringing over a clothes rack for me. The email with directions and house info was very detailed and helpful. Her place has lots of little personal touches, which I like better than a sterile hotel room, but there was still plenty of room for my stuff (and I pack heavy). She left candles and incense for us to use.

I can highly recommend Natalie's place; I enjoyed my stay thoroughly!

  • My wife and I traveled to SF for our 10-year anniversary. We even managed to do it without bringing our two boys... extra special.

We had never tried airbnb before, but had it recommended by a friend. After some searching we found Natalie's place in Cow Hollow, which looked great and was much less expensive than any hotel in the area. We even found fresh flowers waiting for us when we arrived!

Communication was great both before and during our stay. We didn't actually meet Natalie, but she was very prompt in responding to emails and texts.

Her place is very cute, tucked up in the middle of a block in the Cow Hollow neighborhood. There are excellent restaurants very close by and we enjoyed exploring Union street a lot. It is very close to ~3 MUNI bus lines so we decided to get a CityPASS and explore SF by foot and bus. We were so happy we did.

There is a cute little patio area, which we only used for a few minutes, but enjoyed seeing nonetheless. The path leading to the condo is very steep, so anyone with mobility issues who wants to do walking will have trouble.

Natalie's pictures were a great representation of what we got and we felt very comfortable. It is a home that is lived in and cared for. It is decorated with great style and feels spacious (especially for just 2 of us). So much more room than you would ever get at a hotel. The neighbors upstairs can be heard when they are moving around, but we only noticed this a few times during our 8-day stay and it was never at a time when it was bothersome. Nights were very quiet and peaceful.

The queen bed was comfortable, the water pressure was amazing and the heat kept us warm. Natalie owns a dog, but other than there being a dog dish in the corner we never noticed any of the signs you might expect from a condo with a dog occupant. Everything was clean and ready to be used. The wireless internet worked great and the smart TV was nice since we have various streaming subscriptions (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Plus, etc.).

Overall we had a really fantastic stay and would do it again in a heartbeat!

I'm an East Coast transplant who landed in San Francisco in 2001. Now I am a biologist working at Stanford on stem cell research. I chose the Bay Area as my home because of the outdoor lifestyle --the nearby trails and beaches, and so close to a city that is small, but so diverse and lively. My personal passions are a love for animals--especially dogs (I have a large fluffy goldendoodle). I love traveling all over the world and have lived abroad-- York, London, England, and Seoul. As a host, I am relaxed and helpful, and want to make sure you are comfortable and enjoy my home and your stay in the city I call home!
