MaLinda was splendid: she met my taxi and pointed me towards the nearest restaurant. Room is exactly as pictured. The only downside--and it's a minor one--is that the room (or at least the one I stayed in) is in the basement of a wooden house and so every movement by the upstairs guests produces rather larges creaks and groans. Not a problem the night I stayed since I was getting up early in any case, but they certainly would have woken up a light sleeper.
We enjoyed our stay. MaLinda was very courteous. We did get cold at night, but that was our fault...I forgot about the heater that was in the armoire! We also heard the guests above us, walking and turning the shower on, but we were getting up too so it wasn't a big deal. The bed was super comfortable and everything was clean. Overall, a great experience!
Malinda personally greeted us, and was always accessible before we arrived.
We felt rather disappointed to find that "lower level" means basement. I should have asked for clarification before booking.
Yet the place was as clean, cheerful and comfortable as a basement suite with window-well day lighting can be. The bed was superb.
We did not spend a lot of time there, so it worked with us. But I wouldn't want to spend multiple nights there.
Steven, I am so sorry to read that you were disappointed in the "NO FRILLS" Lower Level Garden Suite...a garden grows in the large, well-lit window during the warmer months. You are the first guest out of 129 reviews to be disappointed and I hope you were still able to enjoy your stay despite not understanding the listing description.
We were in and out of MaLinda's place pretty quick. But the room was great - clean and comfy. It was about a 1 mile walk into downtown Boise, but the weather was fantastic and we enjoyed it. Everything was easy!
