The place was very lovely, quite, and cozy. It was easy to find and accurate per description. Guy was a wonderful host, he stayed up late to meet us after we arrived from a long trip, spent sometime telling us about the area and local dining spots. Overall, a great experience and we would love to come back and stay here again!
This is the second time we stayed at Guy's cottage and we had another fantastic experience! He is friendly and accommodating! The cottage is always incredibly clean and inviting, we will absolutely stay with Guy again in the future.
Guy's place was perfect. It was quite a bit of space and Guy had everything set up for our arrival. He met us and showed us around, where extra blankets were, where the coffee was located, and little guides for nearby shops and restaurants. Our two dogs were comfortable and loved walking around the neighborhood. We will definitely stay there again if Guys would have as again next winter! Hopefully for a little longer with more snow!
Guy's place was perfect for a getaway to Truckee! Beautiful views of the surrounding pine trees from the kitchen in the morning, a lovely sitting area to read and breathe in the fresh mountain air, and walking distance from an entrance into the Tahoe National Forest for a morning hike.
My husband, nephew and I had a great stay at Guy's in-law unit. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, very clean bathroom and comfy bedding! An added plus was being so close to fabulous hiking/mt biking trails and old town Truckee. Guy is a really nice guy to boot! We will be back and have told lots of friends about this spot.
Guy's place is great. The pictures don't do it justice as it's charming and spacious. It's got a well-stocked and large kitchen, making cooking a joy. It's in a beautiful alpine setting with adequate privacy from the main house. Guy is a welcoming host, easy to communicate with. We'd stay there again.
Guy and Julie were wonderful hosts and super dog-friendly which I totally appreciate. Guy handled the reservation and was extremely responsive and accommodating. He met me when I arrived, gave me a quick tour of the cottage, then left me to settle in and I didn't see him again until I was leaving! The cottage was super cute, perfect for our needs (me and my 7 lb chihuahua), plenty of room, cozy couch, really comfy bed and well appointed kitchen with the basics (pots/pans/dishes/utensils, salt/pepper, caf and decaf coffee, tea, sugar, cooking spray) and some area guidebooks and trail maps. The neighborhood is super quiet and you feel far from civilization, but downtown Truckee and all it offers is only a few minutes away, and Squaw or Alpine a mere 15-20 min drive. The cottage has a great deck overlooking the pretty yard with a mountain view, and the Sawtooth Trail, great for hiking/biking and I would imagine snowshoeing when there's snow, was literally just down the road. There is a gas fireplace that kept the place nice and warm, and my pup loved laying in front of it. They also let me extend my stay because no one was checking in after me, which allowed me to ski just a little longer, take the pup for one last walk in the pretty neighborhood, and get a shower in before hitting the road. The hosts are such nice people, I enjoyed talking with them, it felt like home, and I would definitely stay here again. In fact I tried to book it for this weekend and was sad to see it wasn't available. This is the perfect place if you want to be in nature, away from the craziness of the city, but want all the comforts of home (including your own washer and dryer!). Thanks Guy & Julie! Yogi and I will be back!
