About This Listing
Lovely fist floor apartment in center of town, right in front of the Temple of Claudius Marcellus. Charming, elegantly furnished, poetic, in the middle of things. Lots of light, high ceilings and sparkling clean. 1 bedr. or full apt. when I am away.
Elegant one bedroom in/or full apt. 1291 sqfoot (ca 120 mq) overlooking the Roman Temple of Claudio Marcelo, at the very center of town (3 minutes from Plaza de las Tendillas), with perfect close views of the Semana Santa's processions (located at the start of "carrera oficial")
I have old furniture and paintings from my family and mix them with things I find around and call me up for a life journey.
Can rent the whole apartment (1 large bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and large sitting room) and be on your own when I am not home, or have your bedroom (2 beds/double bed) and bathroom, with breackfast included (B&B).
Second floor (US; first floor for the EU): whitewashed, very high ceilings, filled with light; antiques and art mixed with eclectic flair.
Composed of: 1 bedroom (2 twins or King size bed), 2 bathrooms, all equipped kitchen, 2 rooms which will remain closed (my bedroom and my studio) and a very big 15 mqsquares sitting room with 4 large Windows and one corner bay-window with balconies overlooking the carrera oficial of the Semana Santa's processions and the Temple of Claudio Marcelo.
The area is extremely safe, lively and full of places for tapas, and drinks. The apartment is located as a middle point between the Plaza de la Corredera and the Plaza de las Tendillas, in the "elegant" quarter of town and shopping zone, and at 5 minutes from the river walk, now reformed and transformed in a pedestrian park-walk with fancy and trendy restaurants and tapas bar.
Good restaurants nearby: Bodegas Campos, Casa Salinas, Fusion, Soho Fusion, Taberna del Rio, las Tinacas
My apartment is my home, it shelters all I found, loved, and took with me in about 12 years of travelling and working in the US and acrss Europe: antique family furnishing, art, books, etc. I ask you to enjoy it, and to please take good care of home as I am away.
In Cordoba you will not need a car unless you want to travel in the provincia: all is nearby, and it is a charming city to walk (just avoid walking out from 2 pm to 9 pm in the summer). If you need busses, a bus stop is right up the street and 2 taxi stands are at the bottom and top of the same street (Calle Claudio Marcelo). Some people rent bikes to bike along the river, but in summer you will prefer walking.
My home is special in that it is a very classic (old liberty building, with very high ceilings, large and tall wooden doors), eclectic, poetic and charming place, with one of the most impressive views in town as it overlooks the Roman temple of Claudio Marcelo through a big cristal bay-window which opens completely creating a sort of small greenhouse where I planted jasmins and plants.
I am an art historian, specializing in Renaissance and Baroque art, so there is an artistic touch to it.
The house has a dishwasher, a laudry machine (no dryer but a small patio where you can hang your laundry), air conditioning, telephone (please don't use it for international, only for local (Spain), otherwise I will have to reimburse the money through the deposit), and internet.
My help and cleaning lady Andrea will meet you at your arrival, give you 2 sets of keys (if a couple) and explain basics about the apartment. She will be available all time for extra ironing or cleaning if needed (she charges 10E an hour).
everything in town, I will also help them as turistic information as I am a professor of art history
Interaction with Guests
any time they need, by email or phone (I have a blackberry)
It is really central, but still very charming and old styled (the "new" centre is modern, ca. 1970's), it overlooks one of the beauties and has great atmosphere, since there are many bars around it is lively in the sitting room (you do not feel alone) but very quiet in the rooms (I installed silencing windows). My spot is really central and well located at 3 or 10 min to all turistic destinations. Still, it is one of the best views in town.
walking or biking
Other Things to Note
Sometimes (very often) I am not at home, so I leave the entire apt. for the same costs to the guests. I do not cover extra for having the full space. it happens quite often, especially when I am not teaching, july to december.
Please do not smoke I am a strict non-smoker and try to keep my home smell fresh and clean every day, and no pets unless previously agreed. My neighbours are kind and I never had problems with my guests.
The apartament was beautiful and comfortable and the informational pamphlets Sabina left in the apartment for us were helpful.
We had a wonderful time staying in Sabina's beautiful, centrally located apartment in Córdoba. She was out of town during our visit but encouraged us to feel at home in the apartment which we did! Communication with Sabina was easy and she offered many good suggestions about places to see and things to do during our stay. It was a wonderful experience !
The most cordial atmosphere and utterly tasteful decorated room in Sabina´s wonderful apartment gave a exceptional welcome and made it the most beautiful stay on our trip and the best experience with Air BnB by now. Sabina is an outstanding host, who would give us very good tips about sights and restaurants. One could lose oneself in the abundant books on art and architecture. It is a very central place to stay within a nice neighborhoud, worth every penny. We are happy for getting to know our sophisticated host. You can feel her savoir vivre and love to the beauty of small details from the lovely bone china and silver spoon on the breakfast table to the matchbox in the bathroom. I will definitely come back for another wonderful time!
Sabina's place was our favorite. Sadly she had to be out of town and we did't get to meet her. She did make sure that someone was there to greet us and provide us with the keys and show us the apartment. Her apartment is an experience in itself. Very warm and welcoming.
Sabina was a wonderful hostess and her home is so lovely. She is kind and welcoming and generous with her hospitality. Her place is in a great location with lots of light. The breakfast she served was an elaborate and delicious assortment. She also provided so many helpful hints for exploring the area and introduced me to some very nice locals. I would recommend her place to anyone.
We like Sabina very much, so we extend our staying, the house is very chic and comfortable, the most unforgettable thing is the fantastic breakfast Sabina prepared for us, I post the breakfast picture on wechat, all my Chinese friend are admired a lot. besides these, Sabina is a very knowledgeable girl, so enjoyable to talk with her, definitely recommend!
Our host was out-of-town for the weekend, but arranged for someone to let us in. Once there we had the place to ourselves. We found an array of information laid out about things to do (both brochures and her personal recommendations). The location is outstanding, with restaurants and shops literally downstairs and along the block, Roman ruins across the street, the river and Cathedral–Mosque (Córdoba's best-known attraction) a 20-minute walk away. Highly recommended.
