There are also some truly unusual methods of transport, like the Funicular Railway from Como to Brunate or the numerous cableways in Lecco.
I hope to see you soon
A lovely studio apartment in an old monsatery, a lovely host and a beautiful city.
Il monolocale è piccolo ma accogliente. Siamo rimasti solo una notte, ma è stato molto piacevole. Valerio è stato molto gentile e ci ha dato ottimi consigli su come passare la serata a Lecco. Consigliato!
My first experience with Airbnb couldn't be better! Valerio is a very nice person, he went to pick us up in the train station, gave some truistic tips and even had bottle of water in the flat for us! (small details that make the difference...) His place is awesome! We loved!!! A small well decorated, clean, nice, well organized, renovated and cozy flat... good heating, shower with hot water, pretty and new curtains, cushions, etc.. Could even live there! hehe Grazie mille, Valerio! :) Arrivederci!!!
We spent 9 days at the beginning of the year in Valerio's apartment. It was a very pleasant experience. The apartment is exactly as described. Valerio was very helpful with information about the city and the region and useful tips for foreign tourists like us. If you need to be picked up from the train station, he will kindly do this service for you, but we did not know this and got to the apartment on our own, which is not dificult anyway.
The apartment, although not large, is very clean, provided with everything necessary for a couple: fully equipped kitchen & bathroom, TV, table, book-shelves, closet+s, and especially a very convenient sofa, which turns into a king-size bed at night. You also have plenty of books, magazines and brochures at your disposal, with information about the region (so you don't need to buy or bring with you tourist guides). You have a very nice view of the mountains from the window.
The building itself is a former monastery and it retains these features in its architecture, especially the colonnade in the interior courtyard (from Valerio we learned that it has been a civil residence for the last two two centuries, since Napoleon). It is also very clean, with spacious hallways and a beautiful interior garden. The neighborhood is quiet and not too far from the train/bus station, the old center, or the lake (about 15 minute walk).
Staying in Valerio's apartment for such a decent price was, in our opinion, a much better deal then booking a room in a hotel.
Thank you, Valerio, for your hospitality and kindness! We would gladly stay there again (especially in summer time), if you accept our request a second time.

We had an enjoyable stay at Valerio's apartment in Lecco. The apartment itself is located a 10-15 minute walk (slightly uphill) from the train station, but you are rewarded with a quiet and cosy apartment with some nice views to the mountains. The sofabed was comfortable (large enough for two people) and although we did not use the kitchen area, it is functional with gastop cooker, fridge, plates, pots etc. Visiting in December, we found the apartment to be warm and comfortable during day and night. Overall, Lecco is a lovely town, and Valerio's apartment is terrific value. Recommended.
Super good apart for short and long traveling !!!
Piccolo appartamento confortevole e ben accessoriato. Situato in buona posizione, ci ha consentito di fare un buon soggiorno.
Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.
L'appartamento corrisponde alla descrizione, così come le foto pubblicate.
E' ben riscaldato (riscaldamento centralizzato) e silenzioso.
Valerio is really nice, helpful and hospitable. We are glad to stay in his room - this is very good place near lake Como, quaiet, pure, with very nice view from the window... We'll visit with pleasure this place again :)
