It was a pleasant stay in Lecco at Valerio's place! Valerio was very welcoming, very flexible with our arrival (as we changed the time of our arrival on the very last minute), he picked us up from a rail station, took us to his place by car and even offered to give us a lift to a grocery store. The place was really nice, part of a beautiful, very old and quite residential building with a lovely view over the mountains. We found there everything we needed, including some basic ingredients for cooking. Everything was as described, and tidy. The flat is a bit further away from the city centre, but it's a really nice walk to get there and also a great way to get to know other parts of the city. And the neighbourhood was probably the nicest part of Lecco, laid-back, and we wouldn't have otherwise get to know it for which we're really thankful. Lecco itself is probably not the nicest town around the lake, but the up side is that it's much less busy and touristic, cheaper, easily reachable by train, and super close by train to the lake's top towns such as Varenna (21min). All in all, I'd be happy recommend his place to anyone and to come back when visiting the lake!
I arrived in Lecco a day later than expected but it was easy to contact Valerio via SMS to let him know. The apartment is quite close to the station but I still managed to get a bit lost the first time (best to be a bit organised and careful). Valerio waited patiently for me at the apartment to show me inside. The apartment had everything I needed except a giant block of ice for the hot summer nights! It's on the top floor so understandably quite warm (like everywhere in a heatwave). If you need wifi a public PAYG service (Vodafone) is accessible from the apartment for a fee - it worked excellently. The apartment is quirky but really great value for a solo traveller.
My partner and I stayed in Valerio's airbnb for our stay in lecco. Valerio actually picked us up from the train station which was much appreciated! He is a very kind, helpful host! We were happily surprised that although it is listed as a private room, it turned out to be a small entire place! The view is unbelievable and the place is very cute. One downfall was that since it is quite small, it got extremely hot inside and there was no fan or air conditioning. The kitchen had everything for cooking and eating, but unfortunately much of it was not clean.
All in all we had a really lovely stay.
Cute place that you can find the things you need with nice mountain view. Neighbors can be noisy, but as you will be walking around at most of the time it is not a big problem. Valerio took us from the train station which was very helpful. Thank you!
Hôte accueillant et agréable
Appartement petit et pas propre, salle de bain limite ( rideaux de douche avec des moisissures ), cuisine avec toile d'araignées sur les placards , draps et oreillers suspects
Very friendly host. Good value room. Fine neighborhood. Could improve the cleaning, but who spends hours cleaning at that low price.
Perfect for the budget traveller....
The flat was perfect for staying over in Lecco. I am so pleased that I could stay in that place as you are able to cook, be independent and also its quite close to the train station as well.
