  • Cute house great host close to beach. Perfect affordable gateway close to the city. Perfect for 2-3 days of relaxing. Good times.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Diana's place! The close proximity to Fire Island makes this an ideal getaway house. The bikes available in the house were an added bonus. The area is quiet and very relaxing. We would definitely come and stay again, highly recommend!

  • Diana, our host, was extremely helpful. The house is cozy with an excellent location and a reasonable price.

  • This was exactly what we needed for a short stay near the ocean. The walk was easy (though I might recommend taking bikes if you plan to go back and forth from the beach during the day) and the wilderness visitor center hiding in the dunes is beautiful! Diana was very helpful and accommodating to our check-in and check-out times. The entire experience was lovely!

  • I cannot put into words what a wonderful experience it was staying at Diana's home. Diana is a sweetheart and provided a wealth of information from directions, to just what to expect during our stay. She was always communicating with me as time got closer to our stay. I wanted my three, young boys to experience the ocean for the first time and having an entire home, steps away from the water, was just what we needed. The house is sweet and was plenty spacious for the four of us. We enjoyed staying in at times and being able to cook our own meals (though local resturants did not disappoint!). The beds were comfortable as was the couch in the living room. The beach at Smith Point Park (two miles away) was a blast-an easy bike ride or walk if you don't want to pay the parking fee. You can bring your own food or let the Beach Hut cook for you. Watching surfers and playing in the waves for a few days was amazing. My boys and I would love to return for an even longer stay! We miss the ocean and Diana's home.

  • The cottage was cozy and in a good location. Diana was a good host, easy to reach and flexible with the check in and check out times. Definitely good for a couple who wants a quick getaway at a great price. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the cottage. The bathroom and refrigerator could have been cleaned better.

  • A lovely house to stay in and really near to the beach. The house is really nicely decorated and furnished. However the second bedroom is in the roof and the only access to it is up a loft ladder which could be difficult for young children.
A lovely garden and a handy park at the end of the street.

  • It was a lovely stay, and ideal if you have a dog as we do. Diana was very flexible with checking in and out, and although Shirley doesn't have a lot of amenities on its own, you are a fairly short drive to other towns that do. Having a washer and drier on site was also a big plus after going to the beach. We would go back again.

  • Great small cozy house. Was perfect for me and three other friends to get away from the city and just kick back. She's within walking distance from the beach, the bikes are great. Wasn't to hard to get in and out of the apartment, or find it. She gave us some great recommendations, Ofrio's was excellent, as well as this restaurant Porters. Everyone in the town was very nice. Overall great experience.

  • Me and my boyfriend stayed for 6 nights in Dianas small house. It had all you needed for a week near the beach. Diana was always very quick to answer our questions and was very helpful. As we arrived when she was not there, she left the key for us! It was very uncomplicated. We arrived by train and were very glad about the two bicycles in the shed we could use. So we could go to the beach with them and buy our groceries.
I would definitely recommend the place for a quite time at the beach!
