The space
--> Cabins #1 - #4 comprise 4 private sleep cabins located within 2 duplex cottage buildings with walls and locked doors separating the cabin halves (private -- NOT shared).
--> Each private cabin has access to the shared duplex kitchen cabin designed for eating, cooking, hanging out, all night fun, card playing, early morning coffee, and etc. The sleep cabins are designed for sleeping, quiet time, relaxing, and resting.
--> Each of our 4 separate (private) sleeping cabins can accommodate up to 6, with private bathrooms and a communal kitchen cabin for these 4 cottages to use and share. Communal kitchen cabin seats up to 20.
--> Each of the 4 private cabins has 10 to 18 large glass and screened windows (can be opened or closed) for panoramic views, breezes, and with an overhead fan and pedestal fan combined with cool evenings, it's not likely that you will be too hot even on the muggiest of days.
--> Each cabin contains private bathrooms. Hand wash sink as well.
--> There is a large communal bon-fire pit outside of the shared kitchen cabin, picnic tables under trees and at the fire pit, and lots of open field and grass to relax and enjoy. Also 2 fixed mounted charcoal grills -- bring your own charcoal, or buy bundles at the Office Cottage for $5..
--> Firewood bundles are located outside of the office cottage and are sold in $5 bundles. Please deposit payment at the black drop box on the left side of the office cottage porch.
-->Buffalo Gap Retreat has a beach house with white sand beach, volleyball, horse shoes, corn hole, a big wrap around porch, game room, lake, lakefront wood fired sauna with floating dock, lake dock to swim out to, fishing, hiking, Frisbee on the beach, picnic tables and comfortable seating, and a creek that surrounds the beach house on 3 sides.... lots of beauty and fun to soak up.
-->Further, when not privately rented, the Dining Hall Gathering Space and Pavilion (as well as Beach House) have various games set up for guests.

History
Buffalo Gap Retreat's cabins are part of an old Jewish sleep-away camp called Buffalo Gap Camp dating back to 1954. We are restoring the property to it's former glory, maintenance, and landscaping grandeur, as well as access to all improved facilities. We thank you for your support and hope you enjoy your stay!

Guest access
• Front entrance gate is always open.
• Your cottage door has an electronic keypad lock -- you will be sent the code to your cottage in advance of your arrival.
• Sauna may be booked on a first-come-first-served basis at the Office Cottage so that we can maintain social distance guidelines and have a chance to disinfect sauna between each use.
• On-site manager available to handle any questions or needs.

Other things to note
Each cottage contains a 3 ring binder of "Things to Do" nearby as well as on-site -- including nearby eateries, hikes, nearby towns and places to check out nearby and what amenities are offered on-site in terms of games, lake options, hikes, sauna, etc
