About this listing
Our pleasant and comfortable room is in our family home in a new house. We are located in a quiet area of Torquay within one of the outer suburbs. We are about 3 miles from Torquay town centre and the main tourist beach. Both are accessible via a short bus journey from a nearby bus stop.
A retail park is a 10-15 minute walk away with high street name shops and a large supermarket.
Our home is split over three levels with the guest bedroom on the lower ground floor, Lounge in the middle and bathroom and family bedrooms on the upper floor. There is a shared family bathroom with bath and shower for guests as well as access to a separate cloakroom toilet on the ground floor. There's unrestricted access to the open garden and kitchen and guests are more than welcome to use cutlery & microwave etc for takeaways. There is also a comfortable lounge to relax in where guests are welcome to use the TV and borrow the good selection of books (especially ideal for an afternoon down at the beach) and local OS maps.
The bedroom has its own tea & coffee making facilities and plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space.
Cereals, toast, fruit and hot drinks will be provided at breakfast time which is included in the room fee.
We are happy to assist with a small amount of washing for longer stays (we know first hand what its like when travelling) and our iron and ironing board is also available when required.
Use of an off road private parking space on the drive is available to guests and our home is easily accessed to the major 'A' roads, which is ideal for exploring beautiful South Devon. Dartmoor, Exeter, Dartmouth and Plymouth are all within a short distance for day trips.
No smoking permitted in or outside the house and no pets permitted
Devina and Nick were very welcoming and the house was beautiful. They made our stay easy and very pleasant. We were overwhelmed with the selection for breakfast. Everything was as described or better. We would certainly recommend staying at this Airbnb.
Nicholas was an excellent host. Lovely new home, comfortable beds, spotless facilities. Can't fault.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Nick and Davina. The room was very comfortable, immaculately clean and very quiet. They provided us with a good choice of food for breakfast. It was a pleasure to sit eating it overlooking the garden, which in turn overlooks a valley. The neighbourhood - a new housing estate, was well looked after and very quiet. Would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it.
Nicholas and Davina were such an amazing host! Everything was perfect. We were greeted by Davina and Finley (their cute son!) when we arrived. Davina showed us around the house.
The room was perfect, the pictures shown here don't do it justice. They prepared a kettle, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and even biscuits! The breakfast in the morning was yummy at their lovely kitchen. So many things to choose from; cereals, yoghurts, bread and variety of jams/spread.
All in all, we would without a doubt, recommend Nicholas' place to anyone and everyone! It's perfect! Location not too far from the city centre itself. It was very convenient that there was a parking spot for us to park our car as well.
We can't thank you enough! Thank you for the lovely stay!
Nicholas and his family were extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful and are the perfect hosts. The house is spacious and pristine. The room is perfect, sited next to the lovely kitchen which opens out onto a garden with a view and plenty of sunshine. The bedroom, being sited two floors down from the family bedrooms makes it feel as if you are not imposing on the family when a guest in their house. I would recommend to anybody, whether staying in Torquay for business or pleasure.
About the Host, Nicholas
My wife and I live in Torquay with our five year old son. We are in our early thirties and both work as professionals. We have the world extensively and love to visit new places. We're both very active and adventurous and are happiest outdoors.
We enjoy hosting as well as being guests. We're very lucky to live in South Devon and the area has much to offer with moorland and coast within minutes of our home.
