Giuliano and Nadia's apartment is comfortable and roomy and as described - big kitchen, big bathroom, comfortable bedroom. Giuliano greeted us with a bottle of wine and an assortment of food for the next day's breakfast. We thought the neighborhood (Tor Pignatarra) was really special. It's not a hip neighborhood like Pignetto, its neighbor to the north. Tor Pignatarra has a dynamic mix of Romans from many different backgrounds. Not only was there terrific traditional Roman food but also Turkish kebabs, Indian curries and Chinese dumplings. The local pizzeria was fabulous and cheap and a fun place to watch the soccer game along with other locals. The nearby osteria turns out to be on Conde Nast's list of 10 best unknown restaurants in Rome. A trattoria recommended by Giuliano was maybe our favorite, if it was possible to have a favorite. There were lots of local grocery stores, all very inexpensive and friendly. Transportation is excellent. Our favorite combination to almost anywhere was the 409 bus to the metro but there are a lot of other buses and even a tram that serve the neighborhood. We took them all. We also walked a lot, exploring the neighborhood and the surrounding areas. At the end of the block you can check out a piece of one of the Roman aqueducts. You can walk home from trendy Pignetto after dinner at some hipster bar. We always felt safe and there were always a couple stores open no matter how late we got home. We hope we can come back some day soon.
Giuliano & Nadia were very gracious hosts & came to our aid when we were robbed en route. The apartment is just as described and the neighbourhood very diverse and interesting. Their suggestions for local restaurants were excellent and Il Ragioniere was our favourite.
We stayed here for a month and loved it. The neighborhood is vivid and interesting and there are very good cheap restaurants, especially Trattoria Dal Ragioniere.
You have all kind of shops and a pharmacy only minutes away.
Giuliano and Nadia are very nice and extremely helpful hosts. They provided us with breakfast at our arrival, researched the best night bus routes to the apartment for us and answered all questions quickly.
They also gave us a list of restaurant recommendations, which enabled us to find the best restaurants in the area.
The apartment is much larger than it seems from the pictures. All rooms are separately accessible from a hallway. It also has very good heating, which you really need until may.
Karin and her boy-friend Alexander are two very kind, helpful and smiling persons. We haven't had any problem with them. We talked pleasantly with them about our reciprocal experiences. They kept the house orderly and sufficiently clean. We are so happy to have known them and we hope that they can come back soon.
We had a lovely vacation in Casina where we were staying for a week. Allthough we arrived too late (at 1 am), Giuliano met us in the apartment and was very kind. Giuliano and Nadia left for us some food in a fridge for breakfast and a bottle of Champagne to celebrate New Year! Also Giuliano and Nadia left for us maps and guidelines, gave us some suggestions for transport, good restaurants in the district (these places were really wonderful!). Casina is a very nice and true Italian flat with a lot of authentic details and cozy atmosphere. The flat has everything for comfort life. Thank you very much!!!
I was staying at that place for one month, going to Roma to learn Italian, without knowing the language before... My first impression from the owners: I felt welcome. A foreigner, coming there alone, seeing a breakfast prepared on the kitchen table... I was stunned!!! That first impression was getting even deeper during my month there... A special, personal and individual apartment, where you feel a little bit... at home. Typical italian feeling included! A big, honest thank to the owner-couple, who were offering me a perfect place to stay, more hosts than landlords!! I can recommend that place to anybody, who wants to plunge into Roma, into Italia... I'm sure, that at that place is more possible than at others (also, if you decide, to stay there for some couple of days...)
Giuliano and Nadia were great hosts. they met us at the airport to help us nagivate the Italian taxis. The Flat was neat and easy to use and very comfortable. they even left us with our first day's breakfast.
It was easy to get into Rome center via bus or train and we got to sample a "real Italian" restraunt where we were the only english speaking persons and the food was fantastic.
We had a great time and recommend this flat.
We had a lovely time staying at Nadia and Giuliano's flat for 10 days over Christmas/New Year. The flat was very tidy and comfortable, had everything we needed and we felt instantly at home. Nadia and Giuliano were delightful hosts. They gave us a lot of information and left us with maps and travel guides of Rome. They also provided our first breakfast food and Giuliano kindly booked a local restaurant for us for Christmas Day. The neighbourhood is lively with many shops and restaurants. There is plenty of public transport nearby to travel to the centre of beautiful Rome.
