About this listing
A truly creative space near the foothills of the rocky mountains. The space was built as an art studio and features a turn of the century printing press, natural light, privacy and the inspiration you've been looking for. Inspiration, free of charge!
The creative space consists of a loft bed, kitchenette, bathroom and a working space, the building also serves as an art studio. I also teach, so just let me know if you are interested in a lesson for guests.
The space is private, with a separate entrance from the main house. A fouton couch downstairs and a queen bed in the loft make up the sleeping accommodations . The bathroom and kitchen are new additions as of this last spring. WiFi access is free, and bikes are available upon request. I work for a few art galleries around the area and I stay pretty up to date on cultural events - I would love to share music, art and event performance suggestions for your visit, just ask :)
Fort Collins is a bike friendly town, and from the studio, you are really pretty close to everything! The foothills, and downtown are 5-15 mins away (depending on where you are planning to go) and it is only a mile or so west of CSU campus. 1 block from a bus stop and 2 blocks from a grocery store. There are bars and restaurants all along Elizabeth, as well. Fort Collins is a fun town with microbreweries, restaurants and outdoor activities.
I spent several years on CSU campus for my graduate work, and I love being active in the community so if you need any information on the school or have any questions about the area, I'd love to be of assistance!
Guests will have access to hot tub and washer/dryer in addition to everything in the private studio space (kitchen: sink/fridge/stovetop, and bathroom: shower/ toilet/ sink).
Interaction with Guests
I love meeting new people and sharing what I know of the area, if I am in town . Please let me know if I can be of help in any way possible. But don't worry, if you just want to get away for a few days, the experience can be as private as you prefer.
Campus West area is central to the university and old town, a mix of college students and permanent residents, depending on the time of year. It is pretty quiet, but you can see some barbecues and get togethers in the neighborhood during the school year, (or a bronco's winning season).
We are a block from the city bus stop, there are bike lanes and sidewalks everywhere, and I may have a spare bike if you need one... (the city also has an excellent bike library..yes you can check out your own bike!)
Other Things to Note
I will leave a key on the desk for you to lock the space, (it isn't really a 'lock your door' neigborhood, but it's your preference) just make sure you return it before you check out.
My goal is for you to have a great stay. If there is anything that isn't 5 stars about your visit, please let me know, and give me the opportunity to make it an outstanding stay. Other than that, the rules are pretty simple really, smoking is not permitted in the studio - outside is fine. Other than that, enjoy your time here and try to leave the place as you found it so others can enjoy it too :)
I had a great time in Stan's creative space. It really is setup to be comfortable. There is coffee, teas, and beer in the kitchen. The space is very interesting I would at times just and look at the artwork. I highly recommend Stan's creative space. The best thing is it is within walking distance to many places to eat and a quick drive to old Fort Collins.
This is a very nice place to stay. I was able to have my dog stay inside with me and park my vehicle off the street, both of which are important to me. The accommodations are perfect.
I use airbnb frequently for both work and personal travel, and I must say that this was one of my favorite spots I have ever stayed. I didn't have a chance to meet Stanley but I am certain if he is as wonderful as his "creative space" then he must be a great guy. I enjoyed the desk area where I was able to get some work done. I was unspeakably comfortable in the bed and the loft upstairs. And the open space and light made things very comfortable. He thinks of all of the little things and even has beverages stocked in the fridge for guests. If and when I am back in Fort Collins I will definitely stay there again.
A very nice place! The door was wide open so we just made ourselves at home.
Stanley's place was awesome. It was clean and organized. Location was great. Close to downtown area( 10 min by car) and very quiet.
He left some complimentary drink in a fridge and that was so nice.
I didn't get to see him in person since he was out of town, but whenever I had questions, he always responded very quickly by text.
He has a beautiful garden and chicken coop too:) My husband and I had 2 dogs and we had enough space in his studio. Overall, it was a very comfortable place to stay. We would love to come back again.
Stanley and his wife were extremely friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. They had a refrigerator already stocked with complimentary beverages, suggestions of places to eat that met our dietary restrictions, and the space was just as described (clean, creative, and cozy). The bed was comfortable and the space allowed for enough privacy as we could come and go as we pleased. The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and close enough to downtown to easily access or ride your bikes.
