About This Listing
Cozy, hideaway. Sweet private retreat in the woods. Mod interior, with wood floors, cathedral ceiling and well-equipped kitchen. Open floor plan has two lofts; one with double bed; one with single. Living room has convertible double, fold-out couch. There is also a single daybed in the larger loft area. Because of the open, loft set-up, there aren't separate bedrooms; therefore no real privacy. Deck gets lots of sun. Lots of fun retro decor and kitchen items. Shower is small but doable.
Very close to Catskills destinations like Mongaup Lake (where you can rent boats!) and hiking trails to Long Pond, Frick and Hodge ponds. If you're interested in hiking, we can give advice or loan a guidebook of destinations.
A 10 minute drive to the thriving hamlet of Livingston Manor for groceries, restaurants, shopping. (website hidden) Morgan Outdoors Store can supply you with gear and maps and recommend destinations. Main Street Farm store can stock you up with locally grown produce and snacks.
Note that the open lofts in this cabin make it ideal for adults or older children. Well behaved pets are welcome! Come relax in the mountains.
Please take garbage with you if possible. Be careful using electric heat; heaters get very hot; need to keep furnishing away from them. Please return keys to the mailbox where you picked them up. Hang up wet towels to dry.Don't use grill on deck; please use it in the yard. Check that back door is locked and latched (pull on it). It sometimes pops open by itself.
Thanks, that's pretty much it.
The cabin is very warm and welcoming. Its decorated with love and is located down a peaceful, secluded road, surrounded by forest. Christine was very responsive and helpful throughout the experience. My family cannot wait to return to this beautiful property.
My weekend at Christine's cabin was exactly what we needed. The small cabin is tucked away in the woods... Very cozy and private. It was a very relaxing weekend for us and a very energetic weekend for our dog. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this cabin to others!
My wife and I had such a wonderful time at your cabin. It was Exactly what we needed to unwind and relax outside of the city. Even though it rained while we were there, we still had an amazing time inside the cozy cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. A fire pit to sit outside at night and look at stars would make it perfect. Thanks again
We had a great few nights in Christine's unique cabin - it's very private and quiet so it is a wonderful getaway from city life. The cabin is comfortable and very well appointed with everything you would need for your stay... especially in the kitchen. We hope to return!
Christine's cabin was a great weekend getaway - the lot is secluded and private. Our dog loved running around the yard! Christine left instructions throughout the house explaining where things are and how to use certain things. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans and utensils so we were able to do our own cooking, and we enjoyed having meals out on her deck. We spent our days hiking - lots of trails near her place! Would definitely recommend for a weekend escape.
About the Host, Christine
After the coldest winter in decades here in upstate NY I know I am more than ready for spring and a glorious sunny summer. Your comments in my log book and online bring many smiles when I read them. To know you love the cabin as much as I do means so much. An extra thank you to my repeat guests. Remember everyone, your third visit gets you a 10% discount on the nightly rate. I hope you all have happy memories of restful days spent on the deck.
The peaceful mod cabin will be open for bookings at the beginning of June. Please contact me if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing my returning guests and to meeting new ones!!
