We love kids and our apartment is very child friendly, but it is on the second floor of a triplex, so a watchful eye is required around open doors and windows. We hope to accommodate all kinds of guests, from all parts of the world.
Since it was below freezing the whole time we were there we spent quite a bit of time in the apartment so we were very happy to have a warm and cozy home base. And then to not have too far to walk to the more bustling parts of the Plateau . Katrin kept us updated on the information we needed and provided great recommendations for restaurants in the area.
This is an nice, old charm type of place. The immediate neighborhood is quiet and residential, though you can easily walk to bars/restaurants and the metro.
This flat was perfect for our New Years family vacation! The 4th bedroom is tiny but perfect for a small person, and all the beds were super comfy. Everything we needed was within walking distance and we enjoyed touring the neighbourhood despite the freezing cold weather. Great recommendations were left by our host.
When we arrived 3 hours after check-in time the apartment was still being cleaned, which was a bit of a nuisance after 6 hours in the car, and there were no garbage bags in the apartment. That being said, everything was tidy and well kept throughout.
The only downside to our experience was our upstairs neighbours, who seemed to have no sense of time (very loud until early hours of the morning) and stomped with their shoes on constantly. They slept in late, so that was good :)
Katrin was quick and very responsive. The apartment was lovely. Very close walking distance to lots of cafes and restaurants and easy access to the whole city. Our family of 4 was very comfortable.
Katrin was professional and prompt in our interactions. We loved staying in the vibrant Plateau neighborhood and the ability to walk to parks and restaurants. The apartment, the middle floor of a triplex, was eclectic and quaint as the photos indicate, with nice architectural details. Though there in a heat wave, we stayed reasonably cool with fans in every room and leaving windows open. We wished there had been a porch with room for chairs to sit and enjoy the world going by; for those who stay on the bottom level you will enjoy being outdoors on a small patio. Access to the backyard to park a car ($20 extra per night) was a plus as street parking looked challenging. The old-fashioned kitchen has the essentials for basic cooking as well as a washer & dryer. As noted in other reviews, having the toilet in a separate room from the shower and sink is very helpful for larger groups. The claw-footed bathtub exudes charm, but our group was unanimous that taking a shower with the three shower curtains tucked in gave a less than pleasant feeling of being wrapped in plastic. Beds are low to the ground and comfortable -- we slept well after lots of walking around. Depending on what floor you select, you may hear walking around above but this is not a problem if other visitors comply with the instructions to be quiet after 11:00 p.m. Bottom line: great location and cute, cozy apartment.
We had a fantastic visit! Katrin made us feel welcome and she helped in every way possible before and during our stay. The neighborhood was awesome and the apartment had everything we needed.
