The room is a large and sunny space on the third floor of a three unit building. It comes with access to a huge kitchen and a private bathroom.
The room is a large and sunny space on the third floor of a three unit building. The apartment is very clean with a spacious kitchen and living room. We do have a small dog, but we are both sort of neat freaks so we keep the place spotless. We live near the Stony Brook T station on a quiet one way street within walking distance from a number of restaurants and only a few T stops from Boston's Back Bay Station on the Orange Line which puts you in the perfect location to get into the hustle and bustle or enjoy Jamaica Pond and the Arnold Arboretum. We are also within walking distance to the Sam Adams Brewery tour if that suits you.
The room comfortably fits 2 in a queen sized bed. There is also a second room (not featured in this listing) that can be made available with a sleeper sofa, which can accommodate up to 2. We just love it here and we know you will too!
You will have access to the whole apartment (except our master bedroom). The kitchen is fully appointed and we have a television in the living room.
Interaction with Guests
We both work and the dog either goes with us or to daycare. Regarding interaction with the guests when we are not working, we typically take our cue from you! If you chat us up and want to hang out, we typically can. Others prefer their privacy and that suits us just fine too!
The neighborhood is great primarily due to its access to public transit and the diversity available within walking distance. In one direction you have an ethnically hispanic neighborhood with some great restaurants and bodegas and in the other direction you have a more metropolitan feel on a smaller more laid, back vibe than boston's downtown which is only a few stops away on the T if you prefer that. We LOVE living here.
We are right off of the MBTA Orange line near Stony Brook station. We are also very close to several bus stops and you can always call a cab. Also, there is ample street parking on our street.
Other Things to Note
We do have a dog, named Didymus. He is a relatively recent rescue. He is making great progress and is pretty well trained but we are still working on it and he does sometimes whine or get scared around strangers.
We are a laid back household that just asks that there be no smoking indoors and that you respect that we are working professionals and remain reasonably quiet after midnight. Other than that, we are pretty flexible!
Also, we do have neighbors that share a common stairwell (there are 3 units in the building). Please be respectful of these areas and keep volume down to a minimal before 8am and after 12 midnight, especially on weekdays!
Micheal & Zachary were amazing hosts! Really lovely and helpful, it was great staying at their flat.
The flat is absolutely lovely, very well located (Jamaica Plain is a very nice area with lots of little shops, cafés and restaurants) and with all you need. I definitely recommend their place!!
The room/house couldn't be more accurately described, and was exactly what I was looking for. I am a recent transplant to Boston, and used this booking to stay while looking for a place to live. Michael and Zachary (Michary) were excellent hosts and made me feel right at home. All three of us are busy professionals, so 'in-depth' host time isn't the focus here (if that's what you are looking for), although tons of brochures were in my well appointed room explaining things to do. There was also a binder explaining everything I needed to know about the house. I HIGHLY recommend this house!
Michael and Zachary were great hosts, friendly and happy to help. The place was clean and well furnished, plus towels and toiletries were provided. We were welcome to make use of the kitchen plus all of the entertainment facilities, which made our stay a much more comfortable one. I would definitely recommend this, and will be booking with them again!
I felt comfortable right away with the detailed email Michael sent from the beginning. Before my trip, he was quick to answer any and all questions I had and I knew exactly where to go and what to do to get to the house. The entire apartment is FLAWLESSLY decorated and at first I didn't even want to mess up the bed because it was so cute. Michael and Zach were so welcoming and friendly that even though I tend to be a shy introvert, I felt totally comfortable talking to them and sharing their amazing home. This was a fantastic first Airbnb experience for me and I can't thank Michary enough!
Michael and Zachary are easy-going, flexible and laid-back. Good people in general. They were always there to help and it was a pitty that we didn't get the chance to get to know them better (they do work a lot).
The apartment is beautifully taken care of and feels like home. Only downside is a bit of noise at night that can be heard from the guest room.
The neighborhood and mainly the nearby Center St. is full with latino culture and it feels like Latin America in certain shops!
My husband needed a place to stay for work in Boston. I contacted five different places and Michael promptly responded to not only my initial message, but several other questions. They provided very detailed instructions on directions and any other information about their place. My husband had no problem finding the place. He said "Michael and Zachary were very hospitable and gracious. They gave him all the privacy and quiet he needed and offered there kitchen, food, coffee or whatever my husband needed. He said the bathroom was completely immaculate and the bedroom very comfortable. Moreover, after my husband left Michael found a shirt that he left behind and emailed me right away to let me know he would mail it that day!
Michael and Zachary were out of town during our stay, but they still were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome during our visit to Boston. Michael was very good with directions and help before our arrival and the apartment was beautiful. Our rooms were spotless and very comfortable and we felt right at home. Our only complaint is that we didn't get to meet our hosts or Sir Didymus! Maybe next time we're in town...
Hi, I'm Michael. I'm a young professional in the wonderful city of Boston. I currently work in audio production for a premier post-production facility downtown. I live in Jamaica Plain with my fiancé, Zachary, who is a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) & Program Director for the Boston Public Schools System.
We have a dog named Sir Didymus the Brave (think of the movie, Labyrinth), and he's truly a joy to us both. We both have busy lives, but we always find time to have a well-rounded social life.
We're big foodies, so we're constantly checking out new restaurants and we love to travel, which opened our eyes to AirBnB! During our travels, we enjoy going to music festivals, concerts, musicals, and plays.
When we're not traveling, you'll find us catching up with friends or just quietly enjoying an evening at home. We enjoy the life that we've built together and our goal is to live it to the fullest.
