A completely equipped two bedroom vacation rental suite. Located in the Historic District of central Harpers Ferry. The Carriage House is a large unit with private entrance, two beds, full bathroom, and kitchen. The shared yard has a picnic table and swing to enjoy the summer weather. There's internet access & cable television. A good breakfast is included! Come tour American History, hike the Appalachian Trail, bike the C&O Canal, see nature's wonders, and access Washington DC by commuter rail.

The space
- Complete kitchen with refrigerator, cooking range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, bagel slicer, and k-cup coffee & tea selection.
- Guests chose from a suggested list of breakfast items, which are placed in the suite prior to arrival. This allows us to provide a contactless stay and for you to eat and cook at your leisure. Try our crustless quiche, it’s a guest favorite! We've historically had one of the great restaurants in town deliver breakfast that's made to order—we love supporting local businesses—but during the pandemic, they've temporarily stopped their breakfast delivery service.
- Dining room area with four-seater oak table and relaxing living room with sofa and chair.
- Two bedrooms: queen-sized luxury mattress (European pillow top) and a double-bed in the sleeper loft that is accessible from a stationary ladder (see photos).
- Full bathroom with whirlpool tub and hot shower with good water pressure.
- Flat-screen television with digital cable access and protected WiFi network.
- French doors screened-in for sunrises of the double Water Gap and Blue Ridge Mountains.
- Front entrance door opens onto a outdoor deck to the shared yard, picnic table, and water lily garden.

The second bedroom is a loft that is open to the living room and dining area. It is accessible from a stationary ladder. The loft bedroom is not suitable for toddlers or children. The loft bedroom is suitable for teenagers and adults.

The shared yard has tons of area to relax and unwind. There's a covered swing that's perfect to watch sunrises and to enjoy romantic evenings. We also spray the yard with natural oils to keep the bugs at bay. Have bugspray with you should you want to be outside in the garden for extended times.

We have a place to have a campfire, the water lily garden, and picnic table. There's extra firewood under the apple tree. It's a gem of a spot.

Are you looking for less expensive place? See our Trundle Suite that is located in the same building and gets you the location/access to the garden. We are known for our indoor/outdoor areas, location, breakfasts, and Guidebook.

Where you’ll be

Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, United States

We are located right in the middle of Harper's Ferry Historic District with equidistance from Lower Town and Upper Town. There are very many things to see and do in and around the village—tons of U.S. history here, the Appalachian Trail, National Park Service, Storer College and the Niagra Movement, Civil War Battlefields nearby, as well as the natural wonders of Jefferson Rock and the joining of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. We are right in the middle of it all here. Come and relax!

These days I'm always working at a tech startup and working from home in another tech field. I call it "work", but really it's a kind of service and a labor of love. It's all grown from a long-time passion for service and research. The teams work in areas of local economy, small businesses, tourism, fintech, and distributed ledger. We're lucky to have gotten in early with new advancements in eCommerce; ask me about it! :) For me, my interests primarily are in technology, humanity, faith, culture, and science. Service, I think, is an essential key to unlocking health and happiness in life. Currently, I am working on research and development projects, as well as working from home in high tech areas. I love the outdoors, gardening, nature, film, food, and friendly folk. Travels have taken me far and here I am returning to a place called home. We're a family operated bnb, licensed, and we love supporting local. Nancy is my mother who enjoys helping and talking with guests. She lives in North Carolina and is readily available by chat or telephone! Come enjoy the sweet air, bird songs, cicada melodies, starry nights, and living history. Visit here to enjoy the wholesome pace and place among the woods and between the rivers!

During your stay
We are regularly available through telephone and text for questions. I very much enjoy talking with guests and sharing advice about the sights and local digs, when I'm not working! :)

Go taste the eats at restaurants The Anvil, Hamilton's, Kelly Farm Kitchen, Canal House, Country Cafe, Rabbit Hole (formerly Potomac Grille), True Treats confectionery, and Scoops ice cream parlor by the riverwalk! And be sure to bring your honey, and stay for a week! There's plenty to do in town and nearby.
