The location was great for closeness to the beach and the shops. The view was fantastic. We did not get to meet Luis but did talk to him and e-mailed before so we knew what to expect. The only 2 drawbacks were that the bed I had was not very comfortable, my brother and sister said theirs was fine. Since we were there during the hotter months the air should just be included not an option so it was a bit hot sleeping.

Staying with Luis was a pleasure. The apartment was just as described. Very comfortable and conveniently located. The bedroom is a good size, beds very comfortable and the AC works great.

Our experience was really nice!!! The apartment is conveniently located walking distances from all the cool places in Vallarta and the bus stop right by the downstairs door!!! The apartment was clean and comfortable and Luis was very helpful when it came to assisting us with directions/car rental and area general information. I would highly recommend it!!

Luis was a good host. He is there if you need information and invisible when you want to lie in the big patio staring at the ocean. The wifi was acceptable at 5Mbps down and 1Mbps up. It was strong enough for (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) calls, but a bit more would be nice for business calls or longer calls (they tend to chop after a few minutes at that bandwidth). I have been to Puerto Vallarta many times, and know it well. It was great to find a place so perfect for me - one minute walk to a swimming spot, ten minute walk to the biggest grocery store, one minute walk to the north end of the malecon (ocean boardwalk). The price was reasonable, as the beachfront Hotel Rosita in front of Casa Luis was US$60 streetside and US$75 in April (low season). All busses stop out front, so a few pesos will take you straight to the Mega or Walmart in ten minutes, if you need 'stuff'. Otherwise, PV is a very walkable town with everything you could want. The casa is on top of Woolworth's and directly across the street from Lans, both well-stocked 'Winners' type of stores (a few notches below Marks & Spencer). If you are more of an adventurer and less of a tourist, the best cheap food is just north of the boardwalk (so half a block from Casa Luis), as is a square where there is often activities including food fairs and traditional dancers and musicians. This is a nice and typical two-bedroom Mexican apartment, with big thick soundproof walls, a huge closet and air conditioning. Luis and Erick live in one bedroom, unless you are a big group and wish to rent the whole place. The apartment is on the top floor, with a huge patio for suntanning or eating under the stars. It should be noted that although this is technically the third floor, it has the same number of steps as a North American 6-floor walk-up. I carry two heavy bags, but luckily am strong and up to the challenge. Sunset tip: always my favorite is Bar Oceano Restaurant, upstairs behind the "Two girls climbing the ladder" statue on the malecon. The sunset view is grand, the Margarita and local beer specials are usually the best in town, and the food is decent and reasonably priced in a town that has become quite expensive as Mexico goes. Don't despair, though, every side street has more traditional restaurants and bars with more reasonable prices. Make sure you visit 'Old Town', the colonial half of Puerto Vallarta, and the new pier. From the pier north is the most popular swimming beach, with lots of patio bars. A quick search and you will find decent prices. Also on that beach are many woman cooking fresh fish for a few pesos. If you are more bohemian you can live cheap on fresh fruit, fresh grilled fish, and cheap beer - all on that beach. A...

Luis was a very kind, relaxed and accommodating host. He's the perfect host for anyone looking for a place to stay in Puerto Vallarta. Luis exudes the calm and easygoing pleasantness of the culture there. He was honest about everything and I was happy that I was able to quietly work from my room just as he said I would. Also, the view from the terrace is breathtaking. It was nice to get out there and work from my laptop amidst incredible scenery. The WiFi speed was very good. Luis makes you feel like you're at home and is able to answer any questions you may have about the area. Another thing about this place is it's in a very central location in the historico centro. There are many good places to eat and drink nearby and the beach is only two blocks away! I recommend this place to anyone staying in PV.

Luis has some great properties and you could not be any closer to everything in El Centro. He made me feel right at home and the apartment had everything you could possibly need to live in P.V. Local tiendas and mercado are all within a block or two, and the beach and Malecon are two blocks will not find more efficient for the location. Luis also runs a tour company that offers everything from 1 day to 7 day tours that include Mexico City, Guadalajara and everything in between. Thanks Luis
