The Space

Discover why GQ Magazine just named Brooklyn "The Greatest City on Earth" - and support one of NYC's best volunteer organizations!

We have a nicely furnished room with private bath and private balcony available in an amazing new walk-up penthouse (featured in a New York Times Real Estate cover story, and a recent episode of NBC's Today Show) - with Virtual Concierge service - less than a block from the subway. All the best of Williamsburg is within walking distance and Manhattan's Union Square is less than 10 minutes from your door!

The apartment is a 1,000sq ft duplex penthouse with a great layout, three private outdoor spaces (complete with grill), amazing southern and northern light, tree/sky/city views and a wonderful airy feel. All the great details are here: wide-plank ash wood floors, custom lighting, climate control, high-speed WiFi and color network printing, a gorgeous bathroom with Jacuzzi tub / rain shower, a CeasarStone & stainless steel kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, great closet space, a huge projection wall for movies, YouTube, etc., a modern indoor/outdoor fireplace and a really cool cat named Gizmo.

Your room has a very comfortable double bed with two roomy closets and organic cotton sheets, iPod dock/radio, city views (including the beautiful Chrystler Building) and northern exposure, and a private balcony.

My wife and I live in the upstairs bedroom and have our own bathroom so you can have one for yourself. We're responsible, clean and considerate. Our cat Gizmo is very sweet. Pilar makes wonderful meals using the herbs from our organic roof garden. If our schedules match up perhaps we can share one! Free in-house laundry is available for any stays longer than 6 nights and bi-weekly maid service is included free of charge. If this sounds good to you give us a shout!

5% of your booking will go to support Youth Service Opportunities Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings young people to the city to volunteer in service of our homeless. Look up YSOP NYC online to learn more!

You'll have your own private bedroom with balcony and closets and your own full bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and rain shower. You're free to use the living room and kitchen as much as you like. The laundry machines (available to guests staying 6 nights or longer) and roof garden are upstairs off of our bedroom. If the door is wide open you're free to come in. If its shut please knock first. :)

Our schedules differ from week to week, but we're usually around between 10pm and 10am. :)

With a diverse demographic that includes prominent Hasidic and Latino communities, semi-industrial Williamsburg, Brooklyn, attracts young—and not-so-young—cool-hunters from all over the city. But it’s not just about hanging out in neo-rustic bars and sporting vintage hats and Amish-esque facial hair—the ’Burg is a serious gastro destination and arty enclave, with a strong Do-It-Yourself spirit.

We love living in the city's best food neighborhood and have been completely spoiled by the amazing variety of restaurants here. The art and music scene here is also second-to-none!

We live right on the L subway line, so you can be in the downtown Manhattan in less than 10 minutes.

  • Rob & Pilar's apartment is light bright and spacious with a comfy bed and lovely bathroom.

It is perfectly situated in Williamsburg (two minutes walk from the subway and great bars and restaurants).

Rob & Pilar were very friendly and welcoming and gave us great recommendations for Williamsburg and Manhattan.

We would love to stay with them again!

  • Rob & Pilar's Williamsburg Penthouse was a very pleasant surprise. Bathroom fit for a King. Room quiet - up and above the street noise. The bed comfortable and the down duvet warm and cozy. Speaking of. Rob made me feel at ease immediately [Gizmo helped in that direction too. Very warm and cozy cat]!
Rob & Pilar are professional and accommodating. I enjoyed our conversations tremendously and now have the privilege to call them friends. Airbnb can be a very enriching experience. Thank you - and THANK you, Rob & Pilar.

  • We were very happy to stay with Roberto and Pilar, as they were really helpful and sweet, and totally relaxed having us around, as if we were family members. We were tempted to take Gizmo the cat along with us, but didn't because he was so comfy there.

  • I really enjoyed staying with Rob and Pilar, and would not hesitate to stay at their house again! They were so nice and welcoming, and gave me loads of tips of fantastic local and non-touristic restaurants and real New York experiences (taking the boat from North Williamsburg to Dumbo and back I can really recommend). While respecting my integrity, they treated me more like a friend that just a paying guest. Saturday evening they even invited me to a dinner party with their friends.

The location is good; half a block from a subway station (L line), and on walking distance to Bedford Avenue in central Williamsburg. The room, bathroom and kitchen were clean and tastefully decorated and their cat Gizmo adorable :-)

The location is great. They are warm and welcoming hosts. If you are lucky enuf to stay here you'll find out for yourself.

  • The penthouse for a cause is a very relaxed way to stay the city.
Situated in Williamsburg, very central next to subway stop, in an upcoming neighborhood with tons of nice places and still a few minutes from Manhattan.

The room is comfortable, clean and the bed is nice. The room is also private enough to have pleasant stay.

Rob and Pilar are the most friendly hosts. You'll feel very welcome immediately. They also can give you lots of valuable tips for nice places to visit in NYC. This saves you time and helps you to get the most out of your visit.

A penthouse for a cause and for a very good reason, it is.

  • Me and two friends stayed at Pilar and Rob's apartment for two weeks.
It's a beautiful place just like seen on the pictures. We loved the view from the balcony and terrace, it also has a useful living room and kitchen, and a comfortable bathroom.
It's a really nice neighborhood and we had the subway (and a Dunkin Donuts!) just less than one minute walk so it was really convenient.
They were really kind and helpful, giving us advices of cool restaurants, bars, other neighborhoods to visit, etc.
We're glad to have met them and we would definitely go back to their gorgeous place!

  • I had an amazing stay with Rob & Pilar over Christmas. They were out of town when I arrived but made sure I had all the information I needed to check in & get settled.
When they got home I was blown away by how friendly & welcoming they were. On Christmas night I was even welcome to watch a movie with them! They also had some fabulous suggestions of local bars/restaurants etc. If you stay, be sure to check out their neighbourhood guide, it was so useful!
The apartment is amazing, clean & comfortable & in a great location with the train just around the corner.
A special shoutout must also go to Gizmo, their adorable cat who was great company in the apartment.
I hope to stay again sometime!

  • I stayed at Rob and Pilar's whilst I was looking for somewhere more permanent to live. They were really welcoming and friendly, the flat looked as great as it does in the pictures and would recommend it to any guests looking for somewhere to stay. The location is great as well. The washing machine was a great bonus staying for a longer period of time.
