About this listing
Discover why GQ Magazine just named Brooklyn "The Greatest City on Earth" - and support one of NYC's best volunteer organizations!
UPDATE: We now have Citi Bikes around the corner from our home! Time to ride!
The living room is just awesome for hanging out or watching movies on the projection wall.
We have a nicely furnished room with private bath and private balcony available in an amazing new walk-up penthouse (featured in a New York Times Real Estate cover story, and a recent episode of NBC's Today Show) - with Virtual Concierge service - less than a block from the subway. All the best of Williamsburg is within walking distance and the subway is right on our block, with Manhattan's Union Square is less than 10 minutes from your door!
What people DON'T like about our place:
- We have a cat. He's lovely and friendly but he is a cat so if you're allergic
The apartment is a 1,000sq ft duplex penthouse with a great layout, three private outdoor spaces (complete with grill), amazing southern and northern light, tree/sky/city views and a wonderful airy feel. All the great details are here: wide-plank ash wood floors, custom lighting, climate control, high-speed WiFi and color network printing, a gorgeous bathroom with Jacuzzi tub / rain shower, a CeasarStone & stainless steel kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, great closet space, a huge projection wall for Netflix, HBO, YouTube, etc., a modern indoor/outdoor fireplace and a really cool cat named Gizmo.
Your room has a very comfortable double bed - recently upgraded with the legendary Casper mattress and organic cotton sheets for ultimate comfort! There are two roomy closets, an iPod dock/radio, city views (including the beautiful Chrystler Building), northern exposure, and a private balcony.
My wife and I live in the upstairs bedroom and have our own bathroom so you can have one all for yourself. We're responsible, clean and considerate. Our cat Gizmo is very sweet. Free in-house laundry is available for any stays longer than 6 nights and bi-weekly maid service is included free of charge. If this sounds good to you give us a shout!
5% of your booking will go to support Youth Service Opportunities Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings young people to the city to volunteer in service of our homeless. Look up YSOP NYC online to learn more!
You'll have your own private bedroom with balcony and closets and your own full bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and rain shower. You're free to use the living room and kitchen as much as you like. You'll find gourmet coffee beans, a grinder and French press available for your morning pick-me up, and we grow our own organic herbs on the deck which you're welcome to use when cooking at home.
The laundry machines (available to guests staying 6 nights or longer) and roof garden are upstairs off of our bedroom. Both are available for use during the daytime or even at night when we're out. If the door to the upstairs is wide open you're free to come in. If its shut please knock first. :)
Interaction with Guests
Normally our schedules differ from week to week, but we're usually around between 10pm and 10am. From mid-May - July we will be home more often, taking care of our new baby! :)
With a diverse demographic that includes prominent Hasidic and Latino communities, semi-industrial Williamsburg, Brooklyn, attracts young—and not-so-young—cool-hunters from all over the city. But it’s not just about hanging out in neo-rustic bars and sporting vintage hats and Amish-esque facial hair—the ’Burg is a serious gastro destination and arty enclave, with a strong Do-It-Yourself spirit.
We love living in the city's best food neighborhood and have been completely spoiled by the amazing variety of restaurants here. The art and music scene here is also second-to-none!
We live right on the L subway line, so you can be in the downtown Manhattan in less than 10 minutes. Williamsburg is also covered in Citi Bike stations, with bike rental costing as little as $10 per day. There are two stations right around the corner from our place! Highly recommended!
Other Things to Note
We love friendly, quiet, well behaved animals, and Gizmo has numerous canine friends in the building.
- Please be clean and considerate.
- We have a baby so there is no smoking allowed inside or on the terrace, but you can feel free to smoke on your private balcony or on the balcony off of the living room.
- NYC law requires that we recycle. See the recycling guidelines posted on the bulletin board for all the details on what and can't be recycled in NYC.
- We do our best not to wear shoes in the house, but we're not strict about it.
- Our roof deck can get very windy, and our patio umbrella has blown onto the street before. Its very important that the umbrella remain closed when there is nobody on the roof!
- The heat from our dishwasher will damage anything made of wood, so please hand wash that stuff. The rest can go in the dishwasher (plastic on top, of course).
- What else? Don't steal our stuff, don't leave lights on when you're away or do other things your mother would not approve of.
That's about it!
From Sep 1 - 15, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
Listing exactly as it appears - perfect! Couldn't have asked for nicer hosts than Rob, Pilar, baby Adrian and Gizmo (the cat). Location is ideal for exploring the city without having to stay in busy Manhattan, and Williamsburg is great for quirky shops, bars and great cafes. Had everything that was needed, room with comfy bed, own bathroom and access to a fully equipped kitchen and lounge area. Fresh coffee beans were even provided! Couldn't recommend Rob and Pilar's place enough!
Rob & Pilar are awesome people, they were extremely helpful with any questions/queries i had. Their place is lovely, the room and bathroom were clean and tidy and i felt very comfortable the minute i stepped through the door. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing that i must mention is there is no lift so you will have to carry your suitcase up a few flights of stairs.
The room was nice, clean and confortable and it was very useful to have our own bathroom. Rob and Pillar were very good hosts and gave us many advices when needed.Their baby is super cute and very quiet.
Of course it is not directly in manhattan but the neighborhood is ok and the L train goes to Union square in 12 minutes.
Great people, great place...we really enjoyed our stay which was our first experience on air bnb. We discovered more than just a place to stay as we were lucky to meet a great little family with great values ! Thank you again from JJ and myself :-) hugs to the "Gonzalez" including Gizmo, he will make it and become friends with Junior who is already a great communication guy :-)
Me and my friend Clara had a wonderful stay with Rob and Pilar, in their very cozy apartment. We felt us very welcome and it felt good after a long day in New York, be able to easily go back to Williamsburg and the apartment, where we felt very at home.
The area around the apartment felt very quiet and nice, just som few stop with the subway, we found some very cozy areas in Brooklyn that I would love to visit again. In this neighbourhood Rob and Pilar showed us some pretty great places to visit.
The description of the apartment and accommodation, and also the description of Rob and Pilar was really like what it said, which was very nice when we got there.
Would certainly recommend to stay there!
La semana que he pasado con Rob y Pilar no la olbidaré jamas! Son una pareja excelente, muy hospitalarios y agradables, su piso perfecto:luminoso, amplio y con um matiz muy "hogareño".
