Loft in the Heights, nestled in San Diego’s historic neighborhood of Logan Heights, this unique 320SF tiny home is situated in a backyard oasis right in the heart of the city. Designed by local architect Lloyd Russell, this bright, airy and spacious one-room “hotel” lets you unwind and relax, while providing a central location from which to take in all that San Diego has to offer. And it’s your very own private micro gallery too!

The space
Built in 2006 the Loft in the Heights is contemporary in design, layout and functionality. With a raised platform bed and large sliding glass doors that make a seamless transition from inside to outside, this space appeals to the artist, adventurer and those seeking a one-of-a-kind experience.

The walls of the Loft in the Heights feature art by local artists, transforming, with a selection of work by one artist showing at a time, the space into your private gallery. The artist featured will change periodically, so there is always something new to sit back and enjoy. Currently on view is the work of San Diego artist James Watts (find James on Instagram at jewattso) with three magnificent recent pieces.

The Loft in the Heights has been used as location for photo and video shoots. If you are interested in using the space for these purposes or other events, please send an inquiry to work out the arrangements. While it is not possible to provide links here to other sites, one example of the space being used in a music video can be found on YouTube for the Korean band Ants and their song Pretty. The 2016 video gives a great actual view of the space and all its potentials.

Guest access
Private garden entry to the Loft in the Heights. The outdoor deck is equipped with a large table and chairs for outdoor eating and lounging.

Other things to note
Please note that the raised platform bed requires climbing a pull down attic ladder. The platform is larger than the queen bed itself so there is space to move around comfortably up there.

Our cats, Maximus and Philip Fry, NEVER enter the loft so rest assured that the space is always cat hair and dander free.

2 night minimum stay on Fridays and Saturdays.
