Will do my best to get you set up and offer some great suggestions to the best the Hamptons has to offer in nature or resturants suggestions, yoga, and other things to do.
We had a great experience with Nanette. She is very friendly and helpful. She offered lots of suggestions for things to do around the area. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. There is a beautiful secluded view from the shared deck. Definitely recommend.
Our stay at Nanette's was nice, Nanette was very easy going and sweet, our room was quite and comfortable and we had a convenient access to the nice balcony from our room, where we spent lots of time reading quietly, the access to the bay beach was great too as it was literally less than 10 minutes walk from the house and was a nice calm private community beach.
We had a fantastic time, it's such a beautiful part of Long Island; very relaxed and secluded if that's what you like. Would definitely recommend taking a car if you can for that reason.
Also had a really great time hanging out with Nanette, her son and the dogs. A very amiable atmosphere!
I had a wonderful stay with Nanette. She was an incredibly accommodating, relaxed and sweet host! The other house guests were nice as well.
The bedroom and bathroom were clean and lovely. Bed was comfortable, sheets and towels were nice and soft. The patio was even better than I'd imagined. Great place to drink a glass of wine and enjoy the end of day. It feels very cozy back there, tucked away, surrounded by trees and plants.
This property is an easy 5 minute walk from a cute, quiet bay beach and an easy 5-15 minute drive from a number of ocean beaches. It's in a perfect location to enjoy everything Amagansett, East Hampton and Montauk have to offer, but is nicely situated in a peaceful bay neighborhood in case you don't want to be a part of the hustle and bustle of town.
This place needs a lot of work before it becomes acceptable to the average, not-too-demanding guest. The only two things that I can favorably say about it are that the bed was comfortable, and the owner, Nannette, was nice. Unfortunately, this is not enough.
To begin with, there are three dogs and a cat roaming around the house, and if the toddler-gate in the hallway is down, they can enter the rented room (as they actually did). The existence of the pets should have been noted in the room's description. The odor that the pets make was unpleasant. If you plan on waking up past 7:00 in the morning – forget it. The dogs will surely wake you up. Nannette's cute two-year old was quieter! This is unacceptable.
The room itself is dull, and has no charm. In addition to the bed, there is a small sofa that is covered with a shabby throw. One could not even tell whether it was a sofa or a futon. An armchair is covered with an old towel! An old boxy TV set is stuck by the side of the bed, so there is limited space to squeeze out of bed from that side, even for a petite (size 4) person like my wife. For a small investment, a small flat-screen TV would make the room a bit less cramped.
There were additional unpleasant annoyances in the bathroom: The supplied bar of soap was a used one, and there were no water cups to be found.
The tandem parking situation is inconvenient. You'd occasionally have to switch cars with other guests. Guests have to leave their car keys on the dining table for that purpose.
The porch has the potential of being lovely, which added to the frustration since it was not usable. The porch seat had a filthy cover thrown on it, so you wouldn't dare sit on it. There was a full-size screen door (!) laid on the table, so the porch looked rather like a storage area. What a waste!
It may not take much to fix the place and make it nice, but this requires some serious good will and investment of the owner. Apparently, Nannette doesn't care.
Nanette was very accommodating and helpful! My friend and I were able to come in late at night, and she was very considerate by letting us know about good beaches and restaurants in the area. House is beautiful and perfect location, highly recommend.
Fantastic 4th of July stay! Just as advertised. The house is set in the woods in a very tranquil setting. The bay beach is just a short walk away. We rented a car based upon the other reviewers' recommendation and were so glad we did. Nanette gave us great suggestions of places to eat in the area - we particularly loved the Amagansett Farmer's Market for breakfast each day! The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and well kept. We will definitely try to stay here again!
