Perfect for solo travellers
Hello! Are you travelling alone and looking for a room in Amsterdam? I'll be happy to host you at my apartment.
I offer a private room, its small but enough for a short stay. The rest of the apartment is very nice, very light and neat. You can make use of the high speed wireless and all amenities. Just feel at home.
Like most houses in Amsterdam, there is NO ELEVATOR, meaning that you have to walk upstairs 3 floors, so plan for it in case you are bringing a very heavy bag or if you have mobility issues. In any case, I'll be happy to help you carry it upstairs :)
The neighborhood is very lively and it only takes 5 minutes to bike to the center of town!
2 minute walk to the tram and bus stops, with several connections to the center, in 10 minutes you're downtown.
The apartment is situated within walking distance to many shops and nightlife at the Jan Evertsenstraat and Mercatorplein. The Erasmus Park and Rembrandt Park are just around the corner.
Through Jan Van Galenstraat there is a fast connection to the ring road A-10, making it fast to get to-from the airport by car/taxi.
Public transport nearby including tram lines 7 and 13, and bus lines 15 and 18.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with questions!
Iranzu is a great host!! Smart, friendly and very helpful. The place is nice and in 5 minutes you're at Central Station by tram.
The apartament is good (but the bathroom is smaller than I thought).
El departamento de Iranzú es muy lindo, cómodo, queda a pocos minutos de la zona turística de la ciudad y ella es una gran anfitriona. Pasé días muy agradables hospedada allí.
Iranzu has been a great host, friendly and helpful. We had a good time chatting together. I can see why some people maybe dissatisfied with the apartment though, it is definitely smaller than I've expected, especially the toilet. However everything was clean and i've enjoyed staying there.
Iranzu is such a nice and cool person, I really enjoy talking to her!!! Staying at her place for two days was great and so comfortable, it definitely is recommended for solo travelers, so if anyone is looking forward to visiting Amsterdam and roam through the entire city, Iranzu's place is the best place to stay!
I have been to Amsterdam several times and spent a month in amsterdsm this time and booked the small room Iranzu advertised for a week after the other place near museum district I stayed last year was taken.
Was overwhelmed by the state of the neighbourhood and the flat, its far from what was described in the advertisement besides its accesibility by tram. The neighbourhood looks like a migrant area with a few Turkish kebab places, middle east restaurants and mostly uninteresting shops except the restaurant at the corner of the building.
The flat itself is in an awful state. Its very messy with her stuff in boxes all over the living room AND under the bed and in the wardrobe of the tiny room I stayed (her clothings, bed linens, shoe, vacumm cleaner were chucked in the wardrobe) , the bed linens were not changed when I checked in and I had to spend some time to clear a space in the wardrobe and the bedside table to put my stuff. The bathroom is very dirty and the toilet seat is less than 10cm away from the toilet door, the bedroom cant be locked and the door handle fell apart after 2 days.
I wanted to move out after the second day but couldnt find a room because of the marathon event that weekend!
Not a good experience
Unfortunately I was travelling when Sarah stayed at my place so I didn't have a chance to meet her and host her properly, as I always do. Someone else was taking care of this in my absence, and apparently, things were not being done as I'd do in order to give the best experience to the guests coming. If you check the rest of reviews I have, there is no single comment about awful state of the flat or cleanliness; on the contrary, every single review is extremely positive. So my sincere apologies to Sarah for this unfortunate situation.
With regards to the size of the toilette or the room, well, I think its already indicated that its small, and in fact no one ever before complained or felt deceived by it when they came.
The neighborhood is lovely, indeed mainly populated by Turkish and Moroccan families, and young people like me that find a cozy and calm area to live in community to get a bit away from the crazy and hectic areas of downtown Amsterdam. Sarah stayed near Museumplein in previous occasions, a posh, rich area in the center of town. So yes, that's quite a difference experience. I guess it boils down to one's taste as of what type of Amsterdam life one wants to experience!
I hope I can make it up to Sarah next time, somehow. Even if to take care for coffee and apologize in person for the unfortunate stay she had at mines.
Iranzu is a great host! Her place is perfect for a solo traveler and the location is good for anyone who wants to be close to Amsterdam's main attractions without being right on top of them. I would recommend Iranzu's room to anyone traveling to Mokum.
Staying at Iranzu's place was the best choice I made, she is a fun and easy -going person to be with and talk to, and a very kind host, felt right at home . Had a great time at the coolest apartment and city:-)
Nice and quiet only 5 min' to city center by tram, very easy to find.
Nice experience: kind and friendly host, comfortable and well connected area.
Iranzu was a fantastic and considerate host. I was a bit confused on my timeline and she was particularly kind and flexible. Her place is also well situated and easy to find in the tricky city of Amsterdam! The main bus to go to the center etc comes quite frequently as well. Great place!
