Rebuilt in 2011 this garden studio sleeps 4 (one double bed on the ground floor and two single beds on the mezzanine), has a modern kitchen and bathroom and is completely double glazed and soundproofed to ensure tranquility. The place is immaculate and the gardens are always kept to a very high standard.
Ideal for those who want to take their family and just "get away from it all" or groups of friends who want to be left undisturbed.
There are two such studios and if you wish to book them both please get in touch for a discounted rate (also available for longer stays on a single unit).
The house is less than 5 minutes drive from the Lighthouse.
The house is only minutes away from a bus stop, nevertheless we recommend that you rent a car. There are plenty of decent priced car hire companies at the airport, and getting a Citroen C1 for 7 days for 130€ is not unheard of. We have secure gated parking.
We spent two nights at Ana Lucia's place and everything was just perfect. The studio is as nice and comfy as it looks on the pictures. The kitchen and bathroom are very modern (the shower is just great:-)) The view from the house is magnificent and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets...
We only can recommend this place and hope we will come back sometimes.
This was a lovely studio from which to enjoy the beauty of Madeira. Anna Lucia was very helpful when we were trying to figure out the local public transport and other matters. We also found the people of Ponta Do Pargo very friendly and appreciative of our attempts to speak their language. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
We had a lovely week at Ana Lúcia's place. The studio and garden are extremely well kept and have all the facilities you need: kitchen supplies, TV/internet, sheets, blankets, pillows, towels and a great shower! It's more like a hotel really. The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful and you won't find many tourists there. A rental car is pretty much mandatory since the nearest supermarket is in Prazeres which is an 18 minute drive. The nearest village is Ponta do Pargo which has a nice little restaurant named "Al Forno" that serves local food cooked in an outdoor wood stove and is run by really nice people. Ana Lúcia has been very helpful and hospitable. She always replies instantly to messages and we got a text message as soon as our plane touched the ground offering help in case we got lost. She waited up for us although we arrived extremely late. Which reminds me: renting a GPS system could save you some time, since the roadsigns aren't always that clear, or... present. But in the end we managed fine with a map. Go ahead and book! You won't regret it.
Anna Lucia's studio is very good value for your money: spacious and tidy, well-equipped and with a beautiful garden with an ocean outlook. The rural setting was beautiful and it was very quiet around their place. Anna and her husband are kind en helpful. We enjoyed our stay at their studio very much. The only drawback is the fact that to reach the place you have to drive 20 minutes over a winding narrow road (with beautiful outlooks). To visit other parts of the Island you have to go and come back over this same road again and again.
We certainly recommend to visit this place and stay there some time to enjoy the atmosphere
A lovely home from home with modern bathroom and kitchen. The location is incredibly beautiful and the rural location means that it is very quiet. You can see the sea and the cliffs from the window and the family's farmland.
It's a short walk to Ponta do Pargo lighthouse and there's a restaurant called Al Forno with an outside oven that does good food and there's also a little shop.
Nearby, the cable car in Archadas has great views for 3 euros return. Porto Muniz is worth a visit and Calheta has a man-made beach with lots of activities.
We spent one night in Funchal and wished we were back in Calheta area for the peace and the lovely walks.
Thank you Ana Lúcia!
The studio is located in a beautiful are in a small village outside of Ponta do Pargo (10 minutes walking distance). The studio forms part of a little farm - with hens, pigs and three cows that you don't see if you don't want to. But it looks more like a very well looked after estate than a traditional farm with lounge chairs in the garden where you can enjoy the sun until it sets. The studio was perfect for the two of us or for a couple - you would even be able to live there comfortable with three people. We had a nice stay. The kitchen is very modern and well equipped and also the bathroom is modern and clean. However, we had some issues getting warm water out of the shower - but ask Ana Lúcia, she will be happy to help you. Ana Lúcia is a kind host who is very busy but happy to help you with whatever you need.
