Rainbow View Cabin
(Additional detailed info is posted in the cabin, but here are the basics.)

***Indoor Rules***

•Fireplace
Duraflame-type logs are provided. Burning regular wood in the fireplace is not permitted due to repeated instances of guests filling the cabin with smoke.

•Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the cabin. If you smoke outside, please don’t litter the mountain with butts.

•Dogs
We’d appreciate you picking up after your dog. There is a County leash law.

•Trash
There is no trash pickup on the mountain, and a County sticker is required to deposit in the dumpsters. Do NOT leave trash outside as it will attract bears. We will take care of it after you leave. Or we’ll be glad to pick it up during your stay – just give us a shout anytime. There’s a recycle bin in the laundry room.

•Septic System
If you’re not familiar with septic systems, please read the information sheet in the Welcome Binder. In brief – you can’t put anything down the drain that’s not biodegradable.

***Deck, Hot Tub & Outdoor Rules***

•Hot Tub
No dogs in hot tub!
"Mode" buttons access the settings which regulate the chemical balance. PLEASE DO NOT adjust any of these.
DO NOT close more than two jets at a time or you'll burn out the motor).
Residual laundry soap in swimsuits can cause excessive foaming when jets are on high. Therefore running suits through an extra rinse cycle is greatly appreciated.
Please close cover when not in use, & snap in 2 front latches if high winds are forecast.

•Glassware
Please use only plasticware on the deck.
(broken glass and barefoot tubbers are a bad combo.)

•Seat cushions
Please put the seat cushions away in the chest during inclement weather
(but only if they’re dry - If they’re wet, leave them out.)

•Litter
Please DO NOT throw ANYTHING off the deck.
~ kindly pickup after your dog, & don’t litter the yard with cigarette butts.

•Fire cauldron
Outdoor fires are illegal prior to 4 PM, & not safe in wind.
(if you can’t wait for the fire to die out, please DO NOT pour water on itCover it with the Weber grill cover.)
(if you empty ashes from the cauldron or the Weber,
DO NOT dump them in the yard. Use the Ash Can.)

•Flora
Please respect Mother Nature and the plantings in the yard.
~ “kids will be kids” and unsupervised children can be very destructive.
~ every “weed” on the mountain actually blooms at some point, so please safeguard them for future guests to enjoy.

•Bug spray
is in the old metal milk box on the deck. Rinsing it off before hottubbing will alleviate greasy film on top of the water and will help the filter last longer.

•Hiking
When hiking around the surrounding area, please follow the wilderness code: leave only footprints.

•Speed
Please honor the 15 mph speed in Shenandoah Farms. (Gunfire and ATVs are illegal, but don’t be too alarmed if you witness either.)

•Noise
The County noise ordinance stipulates quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

We and future guests will greatly appreciate your attention to these points.
Enjoy your stay and contact us if you need anything. We’re only five minutes away.

A relaxing weekend in a well-equipped and well-located spot! This is our second time being hosted by Chris and Steve, but the first time staying at this house. We loved the view and the hot tub. The space is very well equipped with all the kitchen necessities and much more. They have thought of everything and are always quick to respond to questions. The house is secluded and very private and it is about 20 minutes from the entrance to Shenandoah. We'll definitely be back!

I had a great stay at Rainbow View. It is truly beautiful, with a newly renovated kitchen that overlooks the Shenandoah valley. The hot tub is impeccable, and you can see the valley from the hot tub. The neighborhood is rural, although other houses are close by, but the house feels private. The beds are simple but comfortable, as is the bath. The location is close to great hiking and only an hour or so from D.C. I will definitely come back.

Stayed at the Rainbow View cabin for 3 nights with my girlfriend. The cabin was great and had an amazing view. Chris & Steve were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The cabin itself is very well-appointed and had everything that we could possibly need and more! Definitely my best, most welcome stay at any AirBNB yet. A big Thank You and we hope to be back one day!

We've been operating for 4 years, but we're brand new to Airbnb. Check out our website: browser search for "Rainbow Views vacation cabin". (Sorry - Airbnb won't allow us to include an actual link.)
In fact, we've built such a reputation and demand that we've just opened another cabin just down the road from this one. Check out Valley Vista Cabin! (But two is our limit - We never intended for this to become a booming business venture! We're supposedly retired! :-) )
