The arrangements for our stay in the apartment went very smoothly and Leda met us at the vaporetto stop as planned. The information provided about the apartment and location is comprehensive and very helpful. The apartment is in a very quiet residential part of Venice, but yet most places are easily walkable without worrying about traffic (which is one of the great joys of Venice). The apartment was clean and comfortable without being luxurious, but suited us as a family with 2 kids. The ground floor dampness mentioned in other reviews in the ground floor didn't really cause any problems. By nature, being in a narrow alleyway, there is not much natural light in the apartment, but we spent most of the daylight hours out and about, so that is not a major problem.Overall, we had a great holiday and enjoyed living (a bit) like Venetians for a few days, away from the milling crowds of the more touristy parts of this beautiful and fascinating city.
Leda has a wonderful place in Venice. This is (was) a family home, so it's very accommodating to any family who wishes to stay there. We had a very pleasant experience in Venice, thanks to Leda's knowledge of the area and assistance.
She also has great knowledge of local healthy options (gluten free/vegetarian), so I strongly suggest taking advantage of that if it's of interest as in my case my wife is a vegetarian. I cannot stress enough that the host was very, very helpful in making our stay as smooth as possible - from entry to coordinating the taxi to return to the airport.
Great apartment, great host. The apartment is located in a quiet part of Dorsoduro, well away from the tourist paths but only minutes from Accademia bridge and a short vaporetto ride from San Marco and the other essential sights. We (couple plus 2 teenage daughters) stayed for 6 nights in September 2013. Well before our flight to Venice, Leda had provided us with several transport options from the airport. We accepted her offer to book a taxi to take us (on land) to San Basilio, where she would meet us. We had trouble finding the driver at the airport, and phoned Leda for assistance. She immediately contacted the taxi company and we found the driver a few minutes later. Leda was untroubled by our late arrival at San Basilio. She walked us to the apartment. The apartment is clean and well equipped and Leda gave detailed instructions for everything. She had prepared a very useful house guide and gave us several tips for local restaurants and shops and help with vaporetto routes. She also provided a basket of refreshments and fresh milk in the fridge. When we left, Leda arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport and later phoned the company to check that we had not missed the driver. Our SMS to her on departure in the taxi had not reached her and she went out of her way to make sure that we had not been stranded. The combination of excellent apartment, excellent location and excellent host makes this the place to stay in Venice!
The location was wonderful -- not touristy but with easy access to everything. Leda was a great host. Easy communications. The apartment was well provisioned. Our only issue was the damp musty smell downstairs, which would make its way upstairs if the windows were all shut. This isn't unusual in Venice and they are working to fix this, but it does hit you when you walk into the apartment.
My husband and I, along with our 2 children (8 and 6 years old), had a perfect stay at Relax in Venice. The apartment was exactly as described, ideal for our needs, wonderfully located. Leda was such a helpful host - she arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport and spoke to him on the phone en route to ensure he knew where to bring us. The apartment was very clean and Leda provided us with some essential food items, which was great as we'd arrived late in the evening. Definitely recommend. Thank you Leda.
Exactly as described!! The apartment is well located close to all the major sights. It is in a residential, quiet area that is very accessible to shops and restaurants. Leda was very responsive to our queries before the trip and was very welcoming. We felt at home right away. The apartment is also child friendly and Leda was kind enough to arrange for us a baby high chair and have a baby gate to block the stairs. Our kids are 10 months and 3.5 years respectively,so knowing that we would not have to worry about them after a long day of sightseeing was a welcome relief. We highly recommend Leda's apartment and would stay there again the next time we are back in Venice.
We had a very pleasant stay here. Location is amazing, I love the Dorsoduro area, well connected, quite and beautiful.
The apartment is very comfortable for 2 or 3 people. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge area comfortable. The apartment has all what you need. The view from the main bedroom is really nice. The bathroom is big and comfortable. The apartment was very clean.
Leda is very friendly, helpful and flexible. Everything went very smoothly. I will definitely repeat.
My family ( wife and two kids 16 / 18 ) and i are very happy, that we chose Leda's flat. It's located in a very quiet italian, neighbourhood, but only a few! minutes to the vaporetto's stop ( either Accademia or Zattere ). The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is only 2 Minutes away! It was the ideal starting point for this exiting town. Everything was as described and Leda met us upon arrival at the vaparreto and guided us to the flat. This will definetely my next choice when returning to Venice again.
