  • Had a wonderful experience at Aida's house. Akela is a very warm host and really goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. The place is what I was expecting and the neighborhood seemed alright to me. One does have to climb a few flights of stairs to get to the house, but that shouldn't be a problem for young travellers. All in all, just the kind of experience I was hoping to have.

  • Akela made me feel right at home even though I was only there for one night. It's a short walk to everything you want to see and easy to find from the train station. The bedroom was clean and comfy and breakfast was great. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

  • The host Akela was very accommodating and was helpful with Italian to English translations. Although he rents out two other rooms as is his home and feels as such in a comfortable way. I felt like a local walking back to my "home" at the end of the night. Having a personal wake up call and breakfast delivered each morning was a treat.

The small bedroom faces a street so there is typical noise associated with living in an urban environment. It was not a problem for me. The Duomo is a 10 minute walk and there are several nice restaurants and a jazz club right around the corner.

Note to others: There is a nice park 3 blocks away directly East from Akela's. It's a great place to read a book and watch the locals play soccer.

I will stay with Akela in the future!

  • I was looking for a quiet room where I could relax in Florence before flying out of the local airport the following day. The room was clean and comfortable in a nice apartment where I had my own bathroom. There was a TV and a solid WiFi connection as well. It was within easy walking distance of the cathedral and there was also a convenient bus stop right across the street. The host, Akela, was very hospitable, helpful in providing local information, and he even provided breakfast in the morning. I enjoyed my stay.

  • All'Aida'S House Keur Aida mi sono sentito davvero come a casa. Grazie davvero.

  • Akela was a brilliant host- really helpful and on hand whenever I needed something. The room was lovely and clean, and full of Character. The view is really great too. Looking out the window onto the ground below with a nice cup of coffee was devine. Bathroom was great, location was really close to everything, and right in the heart of Firenze!

I'd highly recommend staying with Akela, and would definitely do it again!

  • I had a wonderful tim staying here! It was in a nice, quiet section of the city not far from the train station, the Accademia, and Il Duomo. Akela was a kind and helpful host who really made me feel at home. You get your own room and bathroom, which is very nice. There are a lot of steps but if you don't mind (it's a great workout!), I would suggest staying here. Thank you so much for making my stay so perfect!
