The recently refurbished apartment Amalur is located on the first floor of a building with a lift situated in the lively neighbourhood of Gros. It is just a five minute stroll from La Zurriola beach and the Old Town, and very close to San Sebastian’s main shopping area.
The spacious 48 square metres daytime area has been arranged into an open plan lounge-dining room and a modern and perfectly equipped kitchenette. In the lounge side there are two French style windows with direct access to a balcony, which makes it a very bright room. There is also a comfortable sofa-bed, an armchair and a flat screen TV set. On the other side, there are two armchairs and a beautiful and large wooden table and chairs next to a spectacular visible stone wall.
The kitchenette is perfectly equipped with top of the range electric appliances, complete kitchenware and a practical breakfast bar.
The apartment Amalur has three spacious double bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed of 150 cm, a large fitted wardrobe and a modern en-suite bathroom with a hydrotherapy shower. There is also a French style window with direct access to a small terrace onto a block courtyard. The other two bedrooms have two single bed of 105 cm each. One of these bedrooms also has a French style window with direct access onto the small terrace, where there is a table and chairs for you and your party to relax before going out sight-seeing around the city. These two bedrooms share the second bathroom in the apartment which has been fitted with a bath.

The Urumea River separates Gros from the Old Town and from the City Centre by two different bridges, giving it an obvious closeness to them. It borders on the Bay of Biscay at North, on the Ulia Mountain at East and on the Urumea River and the Kursaal Convention Centre at West.
La Zurriola Beach, the newest of them all in San Sebastian, is located in this neighbourhood. It is very popular among surf lovers and professional surfers and it is also just a five minute stroll away from La Concha Beach. At the end of the promenade along La Zurriola, at the side of the Ulia Mountain, there is an area of houses, pintxo bars and pubs called Sagües. It is a favourite spot among young people. There is also a great esplanade and leisure activity area here.
There are lots of shops all around Gros and in the last few years, it has become a very popular area for those in search of good quality pintxo bars and pubs. However, if what you are looking for is to follow a complete route of typical pintxos, it is a must to finish in the Old Town, just a 7 minute stroll from Gros.
There are some wonderful walks to be enjoyed from Gros to other parts of the city. For instance, starting at Sagües and walking all along La Zurriola promenade until you reach the Paseo Nuevo, a magic place when the Cantabrian Sea is rough. From here you can go up the Urgull Mountain, a mere 15-20 minute climb, then come down to the harbour and from there back again to the Old Town and Gros. A trully enjoyable all around walk.
The Gros neighbourhood has several supermarkets and other grocery shops for those of you who prefer to enjoy a more intimate dinner at the apartment.
Very nice and spacious place, good service and good location. Made our stay at San Sebastian even more enjoyable.
This place looked brand new when we walked in. Well equipped with new dishes, cutlery, and appliances. Two nice showers (and bathrooms) which was handy for our two families.
Juan and his staff were very responsive. We would stay there again.
