The space
Morijoi House is designed for relaxation and adventure on a 100 % self catering basis. It features:
The house sleeps 6 pax comforably in three double beds. There is two extra mattrasses for putting on the floor or in a seperate camping tent if your group is 8pax
Two spacious bedrooms each with a cozy fireplace, perfect for unwinding from bed or soaking in the spacious bathtubs for two.
One really nice tent 20 meters from the house with its own bathroom and veranda.
Expansive social areas – Open-plan living and dining spaces with high timber-beamed ceilings and a large, inviting fireplace.
A large veranda – The perfect spot to sip a sundowner while enjoying the peaceful bush surroundings.
A big saltwater swimming pool & wood burning sauna – Enjoy a refreshing swim in the saltwater pool, free of any chemicals, and relax in the hot sauna during the cold Laikipia night.
A rooftop terrace – Offering breathtaking panoramic views of the rolling Lolldaiga Hills, direct views of Mount Kenya, and distant glimpses of the Aberdare Mountains—ideal for sunrise coffee or stargazing at night.
Seamless indoor-outdoor living – Large windows and open spaces invite the natural beauty of Laikipia inside.
There will be staff helping inside the house during the day with cleaning and dishes, and during the night a watchman.
The 10km from the A2 tarmac road between Nanyuki and Timau is on hard murram, a bit rough. The last 2 km is a bit up and down and gets muddy with rain, so you would need a 4x4 to get to the house when wet.
You’ll find salt, pepper, and a few basic herbs in the kitchen, along with standard instant coffee and tea. The tap water is filtered borehole water. You’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

The house sits on a plot open to the surrounding landscape with no fencing. Please stay within the proximity of the house as there’s wildlife around and nearby private homes within the area
