The Space

Hi let us be your hosts,

My house offers four luxury bedrooms for a short or long term stay for visitors to Dublin's fair city.

The house is over three floors and very spacious, modern and clean in a quiet neighbourhood only 5 minutes from Dublin Airport, 20 minutes to the city centre by local bus or train.

Accommodation will include breakfast- Selection of cereal, eggs, toast, bagels, cheese, jams, tea ,coffee and orange juice..

A selection of herbal teas, tea and coffee are always available 24 hours..

Airport pickup and drop off can usually be organised for a small fee of €5 each way for 4 people.

Once you are settled in, a few minutes by car brings you to the vibrant village of Malahide which boasts a lovely 12th century castle set on 250 acres of park land, there are over 25 restaurants to choose from in this award winning pretty seaside town along with traditional Irish pubs with live music. Ladies boutiques, a yachting marina and the beach are also a big feature in Malahide village.

A further five minutes along the coast is Portmarnock beach, nicknamed The Velvet Strand due to the beautiful smooth sand along the beach, and is popular with wind and kite surfers.

The local double decker bus is a 20 minute ride to the heart of Dublin city centre and costs €2.80. Here you can visit all your planned attractions whether it be Temple Bar, The Guinness factory, Dublin Castle or just take a stroll around the citys streets and listen to the street buskers crooning.

This house has a unique destination as it offers you everything you need on your visit to Dublin within a short distance and if you want more than just a city break then there are plenty of fishing villages scattered around.

The M1 motorway is only a stones throw away and offers a direct access to everywhere in Ireland North ,South, East and West.

So if it is a short break for you in Dublin, an airport layover or just a place to sleep for an night before you go touring you can rest assured that we will pull out all of the stops to make sure that your stay in my home is a pleasant and memorable experience for you and yours.

My house is a great launching pad if you are travelling Ireland for your first night before touring the country and your last night before departure..

  • That beautiful sunny kitchen is everything it appears to be! Des and Sinead are kind and generous hosts! The house is immaculate! Linens are clean, crisp and fresh! We stayed at the end of our 10 day tour of Europe and we were ... "Knackered"! This spot provided everything we needed. A clean, quiet retreat that is 5 minutes from Malahide village by car and 20 minutes to Howth ... The Ireland you've dreamed about!! Des offered to pick us up but we chose to rent a car instead ... and we are so glad we did! Our time in Howth was the highlight of our trip and our fish n chips at Guibney's (per Des's recommendation) was Heaven! The neighborhood is clean and quiet and their neighbors were helpful and friendly. If you are looking for an American hotel, this is not it, you will have to take turns in a bathroom, but if you want to have the best, most authentic experience in Ireland ... and you want a ruggedly handsome Irish/Scottish man in an apron to cook you eggs in a sunny kitchen ... Stop looking and BOOK YOUR RESERVATION! You won't regret it!

  • We truly enjoyed our stay with Des and Sinead; they were wonderful host and we couldn't of ask for anything more. Des gave us great directions to visit local spots as well as down town Dublin. Their home was clean and very relaxing, in addition to the warm welcome we got from their two dogs! I look forward to future visits and would be completely content to stay local and take in the sights and the wonderful food.

  • I highly recommend staying with Des and Sinead on your next trip to Dublin. These are the nicest people ever; in fact, I wish they were my neighbors. The house is close to both the airport and the city center, so it is a great launching point for your Ireland vacation. We stayed two nights--one at the beginning and one at the end of our trip--and we'd definitely do so again.

  • Des and Sinead were wonderful hosts! Sinead picked us up at the airport and as we wanted to spend the afternoon and evening in Malahide, offered to drive us over there after we had dropped off our things and gave us a tour of the town so we'd have our bearings. Really nice of her! When we got home we got to meet Des and chat with him for awhile, and he's great too. The house is very nice as well, really clean and comfortable, and I wish we'd had more time to spend there!

  • The highlight of my family's European trip was staying with Des and Sinead. You will never meet a more welcoming couple! I was traveling with six family members (five of them over age 65, and three with very little international experience!) and they made us feel right at home. From picking us up at the airport, to preparing delicious breakfasts, to assisting us with travel plans and providing advice about Ireland, they put my anxious relatives at ease and were excellent company to come home to at the end of the day. We loved their dogs Timmy and Coney, the house was lovely and well appointed, and they made sure to care for our every need from beginning to end. We enjoyed fantastic conversations and plenty of laughs, and felt at the end of the week that we had made some wonderful new friends. As we were a large group comprised mainly of seniors, we availed ourselves of the local taxi service more often than the bus or train to get around, but Des and Sinead took the time not only to provide us with bus and train schedules, but also dropped us off in Malahide and gave us rides to and from the airport. An unforgettable stay. Not to miss if you come to Dublin!!

  • Des and Sinead were the absolute best hosts I´ve ever had. They not only picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, but also dropped us off at the train station a couple of times. If they had to be at work, they made sure we had all the maps, directions, and information we could possibly need. They also saved us a good amount of money by showing us how we could do our own tours instead of paying some guide to do it. Des´ breakfast was phenominal and they also helped us with lunch and dinner by telling us about good pubs or restaurants we should try. Besides being fantastic hosts, they were simply fun and interesting people to hang out with. I´m not exaggerating when I say that half the fun of our stay in Ireland was due to them. I would not hesitate at all to stay with them again should I ever be lucky enough to return to Ireland. Thanks for everything, guys!

  • Thanks a lot Des +Sinead!
(email hidden) was a pleasure. The rooms are as cosy as pictured. Everything is nice, clean and the atmosphere is welcoming. You gave us (group of 9 friends) a wonderful accommoadation and made everything for us to feel at home! We did feel at home! Thanks for helpful advices (airport pic up, group taxi, shopping opportunities) and also for your tolerance towards a lot of girls giggling around.
We would definitely love to come around again! The German girls ;)

  • Des and Sinead run a top B&B. They were our first introduction to Irish warmth and hospitality. To put up with our large group would be challenging but Des and Sinead do so with great humour and generosity. We loved our stay with them and would love to visit them again. Beds, shower and breakfast was great and they offered lots of useful information in planning our trip. Thanks Des and Sinead

  • Our stay with Des and Sinead went above and beyond our expectations! Des and Sinead are extremely warm and welcoming, going so far as to drive us in to the nearby coastal town of Malahide for our last night in Ireland so we would save money on cab fare and be afforded the opportunity to enjoy ourselves. Breakfast was delicious, the rooms and bathroom were clean and spacious, and they literally are located just minutes away from the airport (but far enough away so that there is no noise issues.) We would definitely recommend staying with Des and Sinead for all trips to, from, and around the Dublin area, and would stay again.
