Duomo Apartment - Tuscan experience

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Piazza Duomo, Prato, Tuscany 59100, Italy

The Space

The apartment is located at the first floor of a medieval building in the city center of Prato, the most lively side of the city.
Very closed at the most important historical and turistical site of the city, far from 200 mt to the train station Prato Porta al Serraglio, connected to the most important and beautiful cities of Tuscany (15min to Florence, 1hr to Pisa, 1.15 hr to the seaside).
Bologna is also very near: just one hour of train.

It's the perfect solution to stay for a short or a long period in a luminous and friendly flat, closely to the magic of the tuscan life style.

The apartment is completely furnished with kitchen, one double room, bathroom and a sofa bed, it's also included wi-fi connection, TV, hair-dryer and a washing machine.

Contact me here on airbnb and I'll be very happy to host you and to give you some help to discover this beautiful region of Italy.

  • The apartment is very well situated - a few minutes walk from the Prato Porta de Seraglio train station which is 20 minutes from Florence. The apartment is very comfortable - a good sofa bed as well as separate bedroom. The apartment overlooks the piazza and the duomo and there are excellent shops for wonderful local produce. There is a small supermarket about 5 minutes walk away.
We were there as the Christmas market opened in the piazza and it was noisy at times but we weren't bothered too much by this as we had expected it.
Prato is a wonderful place to stay away from the bustle of Florence but close enough to visit very day. We also traveled by train to Pisa. Prato bars and restaurants are good and very hospitable.
Alessia and Pierluigi were great hosts, very welcoming and helpful.

  • I stayed I at the Duomo Apartment, Prato for two sets of 3 weeks each in June and July. The instant you arrive you feel part of the Prato community and the views from the bedroom window overlooking the iconic Piazza Duomo are superb. Even got to see Patti Smith perform live on the Piazza from my bedroom window. The apartment is clean, spacious, very nicely decorated - obviously professionals who know what they're doing. The hosts Alessia and Luigi were very helpful and considerate for my entire stay. The apartment is very secure with huge thick doors and fort-knox double locking systems, an entrance hall and a stairwell. Initially I was disappointed that there was no air conditioning, but you soon realise that architecturally the eye-sore of external Aircon units just doesn't make any sense in these picturesque Tuscan villages. And in the end two fans were more than adequate. Prato itself is a delightful town and if you get the chance take an early morning walk along the river and climb up into the nearby mountain range. From the top you can you can see Prato on one side and Florence on the other. I had a wonderful time in Prato and have to say as a tourist destination the access to Florence and the rest of Tuscany via the regional train system is perfect. I would thoroughly recommend Duomo Apartment.

  • This apartment is a fantastic place to stay in Prato. It is a minutes walk from the train station and is located in the middle of the town in the main Duomo. The apartment was bright, spacious, modern and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Alessia was a great host and provided us with all the help we needed. Highly recommend this apartment.

  • Lovely apartment, centrally located on the square in Prato. Alessia was an organised and pleasant host. Would definitely recommend it.

  • I had a lovely stay at Alessia's apartment. It's wonderfully positioned in the old centre of Prato, and the window views are fabulous, looking directly over the duomo. It is so much better than staying in a hotel. It is spacious and well cared for, providing a real sense of living in the Prato community. Prato gets pretty lively in the evening - bands playing and people enjoying themselves on the square. But when I was there it didn't go on too late and didn't spoil my experience at all. WiFi is great. Alessia is a lovely host and I will certainly go back.

  • This was our first experience with AirBnB. It was the perfect spot for our situation. Luigi was kind enough to drive me around to a few furniture outlets. Thankyou Alessia and Luigi!

  • I can not fault any portions of my stay in Prato or of the apartment. It was as described, clean, within walking distance of everything I required, the internet communication worked perfectly, the water was hot, the kitchen had all of the basic things needed to prepare meals and the view from the apartment onto the piazza is spectacular.
Both Alessia and Pierluigi were most helpful of my needs and able to answer any question(s) concerning the area, the region or country.
If I'm ever in the area again, this will be my first choice without a doubt.

  • We had 2 nights in Alessia's apartment on route from Umbria to Venice and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were met by Pierluigi who help us carry our bags from the car up the stairs to the apartment. He then came with me in the car to show me where to park and gave me lots of advice about Prato on our walk back. The apartment overlooks the Piazza Duomo and we were lucky enought to have a veteran car exhibition on one of the days we were there. Great watching the cars arrive and depart from our 1st floor window. The apartment is large, modern and very clean. Would have no hesitation in recommending itto anyone. Thanks Alessia an Pierluigi for helping to make our visit so enjoyable.

  • This is a noisy but great location for the traveller not wanting to pay for downtown Florence location. Apt is a corner suite located on the corner of the Duomo - church bells ring very early but no problem for us. Lots of night life and local activity to watch as the locals stay up late. Very close to train station, shopping and market. Apartment was equipped with all we needed, even a washer which was helpful. Only downside was no air conditioning, but there are lots of windows to let air in. Alessia picked us up from the train station which was really appreciated and gave us directions to Florence and shopping before she left.

  • Alessia went out of her way to make sure our week in Prato was just wonderful. Really lovely to be away from all the tourists of Florence but to be within easy access. Prato is such a lovely spot and Alessia's apartment is so comfy. Alessia was very unobtrusive but always at a hand when info/help was needed. We could not have hoped for better accommodation or a better host. Thoroughly recommended. Thank you, Alessia.
