What a beautiful cabin and property! It was so nice to be able to grill out in the evenings and relax in the hot tub later. Absolutely stunning views! The cabin is very well appointed. All the breakfast goodies and snacks were wonderful and made for such a relaxed morning. And the wine was wonderful. The mattress, bedding and pillows are so comfy. That along with breathing in the fresh outdoor air makes for a great night of sleep! Gabrielle is a great host and was very easy to communicate with throughout the entire booking and stay. Highly recommend!
Gabrielle met us shortly after we arrived, to tell us a little about the cabin, to welcome us to the ranch and to give us some details about the pool, hike, extra bedding and fan etc. She was very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately the pool had sprung a leak and was being fixed the first day we were there but its setting was lovely and we plan to try it the next time we stay.
The cabin is well equipped and the views from both the bed and the sofa are wonderful. We cooked using the hot plates, microwave and BBQ and sat for hours in the cabin and little garden and just kicked back and relaxed. Other than a couple of trips to Zuma beach, we really just loved hanging out here. We took Gabrielle's advice and brought a good amount of food with us as there really are no stores around and the fridge accommodates a good amount. The kitchen was well stocked with condiments, fresh eggs, muffins, butter, jam, coffee, etc., but bringing our favorite foods gave us the option of not driving a minimum of 20 mins any time we wanted to eat.
Having grown up with horses it was really great to just walk down from the cabin to pet and fuss them. Their presence and that of the other animals and wildlife here really helps you feel that the city is far away.
Note: This is a ranch so be prepared for the possibility of honking by a peacock or goose (not sure what it was) in the morning. Also there was a window of time in the evening where planes could be heard regularly turing toward LAX, the noticeability of which is probably based on wind direction. Neither of these things would stop us from coming here again but its good to know.
Honestly, if Gabrielle were to ever sell off this little cabin and garden separate from the ranch we'd want to buy it, it was that hard to leave (which we got to do late) :).
We had an absolutely perfect stay at Gabrielle's cabin in the vineyard. We were blown away by the views (the photos could never do this location justice), and by Gabrielle's generous accommodations hospitality. Couldn't recommend staying here enough! We'll be back again soon for sure!
Everything about this cabin is DARLING. After a long day of photographing a wedding, my best friend and I arrived to Sage Hill to unwind for two nights. Even in the pitch black of midnight, you could appreciate the beauty here: the stars, the fragrant air. But morning brought Sage Hill's beauty to light. I was so appreciative of the stocked fridge and coffee accoutrements. After soaking in the sun on the front porch, I spent some quality time with the horses out back. They were the friendliest horses and it was hard to tear myself away.
I can't wait for an excuse to go back! Need a wedding photographer, anyone?? ;)
The cabin was very cute and clean...perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. Everything we needed was in the cabin plus a few extras including tea, coffee, muffins, butter, jam and water. The closed in yard was perfect for our dog to hangout and the horses directly behind the cabin were fun to feed and visit with. Other houses on property are pretty far away so this is truly a separate cabin with privacy, not a guest house. Hiking trail loop from the property is nice and convenient, although there may be nicer hikes to do in Malibu if you're short on time. Bring your own food to grill and don't forget anything at the store since the cabin is a bit far from the store. Overall, really enjoyed staying here for the weekend!

About the Host, Gabrielle
I'm British but have lived in California for 35 years. I like to go "home" a couple of times a year to stay connected to family & friends but am always so happy to get back to sunny California! I love where I live - Sage Hill Ranch is a 7 acre paradise overlooking the ocean. It used to be a Christmas tree farm & there are hundreds of enormous Pine trees on the property. I have 5 horses & the riding around here is amazing. Miles of ocean view trails - the Backbone trail goes all the way to the beach. I planted a vineyard when I moved here 6 years ago & now we are enjoying our own Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc which we are happy to share with cabin guests! I have loved having Airbnb guests staying in the cabin. Everyone that has stayed has been so nice & many have become friends. I look forward to experiencing other Airbnb accommodations on my travels to Europe.
