We had such an amazing time at the Cabin. It was so relaxing and private! Just perfect! We will come back!
Nancy and Gabrielle thought of everything to make us feel welcome. This is a great place if you want to get away from the city, take a hike, see a gorgeous sunset and some unbelievable views, and in general just max and relax.
Stop your airbnb/(website hidden) search now, and book this cabin (where I am currently writing this review). This home is way more magical than it looks in the picture! I proposed to my fiancée here two days ago, and we will forever come back to stay here whenever we need to get away from the city. Gabrielle greeted me at the cabin, and gave me a ton of lanterns and lights to help make the proposal extra special. She was more than willing to help me in any way possible, and could not be more accommodating. When we ran out of firewood, she dropped a huge bag off and left it for us on the deck, and then gave us a free last minute wine tasting. This cabin is romantic, cozy, private, and truly special. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the smell of the land is fresh and indescribable. We made a delicious scramble with the eggs Gabrielle gave us from the chickens on property, drank coffee while watching the hummingbirds fly around the yard, soaked in the hot tub, read by the pool, made multiple fires in the wood burning fireplace, fed carrots to the horses (we are in love with Betty), and re-connected with each other. Although we live only an hour away in LA, we feel like we are in a different world. We are both travelers and have stayed all over Southern California, and the cabin on sage hill is by far one of our favorite places. In fact, thanks to Gabrielle, we are staying an extra night because we are simply dreading going back to the real world! Again, if you want a romantic getaway, a self-care weekend, a writer's retreat, or a relaxing spiritual vacation, this is your place!
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for - a little piece of heaven. Gabrielle was lovely, she showed us around, accommodated more than we could ask for, and then left us to ourselves. My husband and I enjoyed an amazing breakfast of fresh eggs and preserves on toast, then hiked the trails in the mountains, and spent quiet evenings with a glass (or two) of wine watching the sunset. The perfect escape from the Canadian winter cold. I highly recommend this spot to anyone, and we're trying to find time to go back again!
Gabrielle's Cabin in the Hills offered us everything we were hoping for and more for our mother-daughter holiday time together. After warmly greeting us and showing us around the cabin and private grounds, Gabrielle left us in privacy to enjoy soaking in the hot tub, hiking the trails, grilling outdoors on the stone patio, and ending the evenings warmed by the wood stove.
The cabin provided spectacular views of the ocean, hills and vineyards of Malibu. Gabrielle's special touches are just as listed--ranch-laid eggs, brie cheese and crackers, her own Sage Hill wine, etc. . .
We highly recommend Cabin in the Hills for a hideaway retreat.
Gabrielle is an amazing host. She was flexible with our arrival and made sure we had everything when we got there. She even gave us a list of things she already has, so we wouldn't buy some things she already had. When we got to the cabin, we found wine, cheese, jam, fruit, milk and eggs as well as all other essintials. The cabin itself is the most cozy and beautiful place. The territory is very private and beautiful with a great wooden deck and a hot tub. There is also a swimming pool 5 minute walk away. If you want to get away from LA and feel like you are on a trip far away from home in a beautiful canyon in a cozy cabin, this is a place to go. The only thing, is that my phone (T-Mobile network) didn't have connection at the cabin, but perfect WiFi connection and a short walk away from the cabin for phone calls solved that problem. Gabrielle, thank you very much for the amazing trip and your hospitality!
Gabrielle was great host and her cabin in pines was fantastic! The veiw and accommodations were very comfortable and simply elegant.

I'm British but have lived in California for 35 years. I like to go "home" a couple of times a year to stay connected to family & friends but am always so happy to get back to sunny California! I love where I live - Sage Hill Ranch is a 7 acre paradise overlooking the ocean. It used to be a Christmas tree farm & there are hundreds of enormous Pine trees on the property. I have 5 horses & the riding around here is amazing. Miles of ocean view trails - the Backbone trail goes all the way to the beach. I planted a vineyard when I moved here 6 years ago & now we are enjoying our own Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc which we are happy to share with cabin guests! I have loved having Airbnb guests staying in the cabin. Everyone that has stayed has been so nice & many have become friends. I look forward to experiencing other Airbnb accommodations on my travels to Europe.
